Description: | |
This swap is dedicated to the victims of all terrorist attacks, here in the US and abroad. As a native Oklahoman, I remember exactly where I was and how I heard about the Murrah Building bombing. We were all touched by the visions of the World Trade Center. Our hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. I stumbled upon a FaceBook page called 26 Acts of Kindness. This page is dedicated to performing one random act of kindness for each of the victims of the Newtown shooting. There is more information on the NBC news website at NBCNews.com/26Acts For this swap, perform a deliberate RAK- a Random Act of Kindness. Write a card for a Boston runner (at the address listed on the above FaceBook page). Donate a meal to a lonely neighbor. Volunteer at your local animal rescue. Read to a child. The possibilities are endless. Once you've completed at least one RAK, please send a message to your partners telling them about your experience. What did you do? Who benefitted from this act? How did it make you feel? Will you consider doing this act again in the future? Give enough details in your message that your partner can enjoy and celebrate the experience with you. Open to everyone, since everyone can choose to be kind. You can start anytime- you have about a month to do some good and a week to write about it. |
