I admit, this is an updated version of the "Flat Hat" swap -- I am not sure that I expressed my idea as clearly as I wanted to and I would love to have some participants! Make a paper hat! Some possible ideas are listed below with clickylinks. Make it interesting by design, materials, decoupage, sewing, cutouts, washi tape, drawing, painting, collage ... whatever your talent or inclination desire. Leave room for your address and your partner's address. This is mail art. Write a little message and tape or glue or sew it inside the hat. Tape the open edges of the hat with a material that can be cut through or removed without damaging your creation (or sew them, to be opened with a seam ripper). Indicate with arrows where the hat needs to be opened. Mail the hat. Receive a hat from your partner. Put it on and enjoy being a person wearing a hat! This is an experimental idea, so I would encourage swappers to be creative, have a sense of humor, and expect that what they receive will be a new project, a best effort but a new idea for everyone involved. (Let's be generous with each other!) Please have several type 3 swaps under your belt and have excellent ratings. I will be happy to set up a private swap with a committed swapper who doesn't meet criteria. I angel my swaps, but always hope that I don't have to. |
