Number of swap partners:1
Description:

For this swap you will have 1 partner and for that partner you will create 1 piece of lovely mail art! Since this is a challenge, you will incorporate at least 3 of the following 6 choices into your mail art:

  • a map

  • a cat

  • a black & white drawing or photograph

  • a rubber stamped image

  • something green

  • a magazine picture

Remember the MINIMUM size for mailing is 4" x 5" but of course your creation can definitely be larger.

Also please include an inexpensive flat surprise for your partner. While images chosen for the actual mail art are sender's choice, PLEASE check your partner's profile for the flat surprise. To be safe, please avoid religious or gory themes, since these are the two things most often listed as "please don't send."

MAIL the created envelope, don't enclose it in another plain envie UNLESS you mail it in a plastic sleeve--that's just fine.

Participants must have a cumulative 4.9 rating, be rated for 7 Type 3 swaps AND have logged into swap-bot the day before or the day OF partner assignment. I got a lot of grief for dropping 2 members from my last swap. They had not logged in for 4-5 days and I felt uncomfortable allowing them to participate because of that. SO...as one of the members suggested, I should make this a requirement and that seems fair.

Please contact your partner AND me before rating a '1' or a '3'.

So this is for an envelope, not a postcard? I'm new to mail art and I thought postcards were common so I read it thinking it was a postcard until I got to the "MAIL" paragraph. If it's an envelope, what do I put inside? Any chance of a US only swap?

@user2637 Yes...it is for an envelope. As to what to put inside, something inexpensive and FLAT so we can buy groceries and not just postage for the month ;+)

@user2637 I can definitely create a U,S, only mail art challenge. I have just read SO MANY comments from international members who lament the lack of international-friendly swaps that I try never to exclude them.

why is this not flat mail? I am just questioning, not judging i just want to know.

@redflower because type 3 swaps are packages and swaps with craft elements and mail art would be 2nd of those 2 categories.
