I have a question before I join...it says no handmade...yet swap cards can be handmade and used postage stamps aren't new...address labels I usually print myself...so are you just saying "like new"? Just want to be sure I follow the rules :)

daichki 06/ 3/2013 #

artisticsole, I am sorry for making you confused. I meant that handmade cards, writing paper or other craft items were not allowed to be sent. But you print swap cards and address labels with printer, that's fine. Now you know the difference, right? :) Used postage stamps are no problem as they are that way, but they all should be in good condition, of course. ATC's are also something you yourself make and that's fine coz they are that way. Thanks for asking and I hope you have no problem with joining this swap! :)

Kayenderes 06/ 3/2013 #

Another question please. What is coffee Sachets I don't know dis............confeties and also punched papers? I am not sure. Me Old Gal, just trying to keep up with Pack............thank you Also swap cards? is this like FB's friendship booklet? I don't get out to shop much so many new things I don't know about

kerrydwynn 06/ 3/2013 #

Hi @Kayenderes Coffee sachets are the kind you buy in the store, Nescafe, Starbucks, Folgers, etc. Swap cards are the kind of small "business card" some swappers enclose with their swaps. Confetti are small shapes punched with paper-punches: you can get the punches to make snowflakes, angels, cats, stars, etc. Hope this helps?

daichki 06/ 4/2013 #

kerrydwynn , thank you for your explanation.

Kayenderes, coffee sachets are just like tea bags but they are not tea.

Punched papers are like smaller sized diecuts. Shaped by paper punches.

Swap cards are just like business-card and you print for example, "swap name", "Swap from -----", and so on. Then after you create and print them, you write down each section when you are packing your swap.

I hope you will get some idea! :)

I'm sorry. I thought this sounded like such an awesome swap. But I've been flaked on so many times that I am now gun-shy. Too many unrated. I hope everyone follows through, but I am dropping out.

Bo 06/11/2013 #

I have signed up but there are quite many unrated swappers.

lamaj13 06/11/2013 #

Hi! I have signed up. To what participant sent the swap?

Sorry for my english.

daichki 06/12/2013 #

Bo, thank you for joining my swap. I check profiles out every day. There are unrated swappers coz I would like to give new members a chance to get rated. But I have banned suspicious unrated swappers.

daichki 06/12/2013 #

lamaj13, thank you for joining! I will assign partners and then you will know to who you send and from who you receive.

fawnscrafts 06/12/2013 #

@daichki a simple one items swap is great for newbies and lower rates. Seasoned swappers have found that a swap that requires more than $2.00 USD, will attract flakers, like candy attracts ants.

This is just a suggestion, why not make a newbie riendly swap, and have them send one item on the list to the partner, and then make this swap for swappers that have so many rated swaps and so many type three swaps?

I have been flaked on by too many swappers that are unrated and those that love the over $2,00 swaps, that I am in 100% agreement, if the lot of those that signed up are newbies, that means they are here for one reason.

And the damage won't be known until a few weeks after the swap. However the damage can be stopped at the start, by making rating requirements for his swap.

You are the host, so the final decision about how to let the swap work out is up to you, but most seasoned and good swappers will not join, unless they are protected somehow.

If you, however, are willing to angel all flakers, that may give swappers more courage to join the swap.

KraftyKaren 06/12/2013 #

It says no handmade items but then ATC's are on the list.

daichki 06/13/2013 #

fawnscrafts, thank you for your concern and your suggestion. I changed this swap so.

daichki 06/13/2013 #

KraftyKaren, I mean handmade cards and bookmarks. ATC's are ok coz that is something you can't buy at stores.

daichki 06/13/2013 #

To all the ladies who joined this swap much earlier, thank you very much for your patience. I am sorry but I will assign partners on June 27 so maybe some swappers who were concerning about new members would join.

daichki 06/13/2013 #

There is a new swap for new members.

Let's Swap Happy Mail! ~Newbie Friendly~

fawnscrafts 06/13/2013 #

Thank you @daichki you are a good host, wanting to protect your swappers. I may join the newbie swap to help support that one also.

daichki 06/14/2013 #

fawnscrafts, yes, I would like to host safe swaps. Though I am sorry to see some people went. I just hope this swap will be fun and safe for everyone who joined. :) Hey you sound so sweet!

fawnscrafts 06/17/2013 #

Thank you for the compliment. Some days I can be sweet, and others... well lets not go there, lol. I have to leave town, hopefully I will be back in time to join and send out.

I have to go this week north and next week south, so the time slot is busy, busy and busy for me. The south trip is my favorite tie of year!!!!

Our yearly conventions! I have always loved them, even as a child.

daichki 06/20/2013 #

Description Edited - about money.

I removed the sentence: "You will spend 5 USD minimum".

grandmaroro 06/22/2013 #

I apologize for leaving your swap. I should clarify - lately, I have been flaked on by "5" rated swappers. When I put a month or two into a journal, and receive nothing in return, it is very disheartening. I have two paper "SMASH" items swaps going on right now that I will most likely be flaked on. It is just very bothersome. Best wishes with your swaps.

Lizard 06/23/2013 #

Yes, I've been flaked on nice swaps too. Makes me wonder whether to participate in any more, what to send etc but on the whole, I think most people are here for the same reason I am - to make people happy and send and receive fun things to brighten a day. ♥

Thank you @daichki for hosting this and here's hoping flakers stay away from your awesome swaps. ♥

daichki 06/24/2013 #

Lizard, yes, I always try to do safe swaps and want to avoid bad swappers from my swaps. It's my pleasure to host this swap and I hope you will enjoy. :)

daichki 06/25/2013 #

2 days to go at last - thank you for your patience and I can't wait to get started! ^^

pebbleygood 07/ 1/2013 #

Can we send home-made items as extras? Just wondering because I wanted to make partners swap extra special and one of her main likes is home-made items. These items would be extras.

jaz1yn 07/ 1/2013 #

If you were supposed to receive from jinxydc, please see this thread.

roaddummy 07/ 2/2013 #

@RamonaBlue is late on 6-7 swaps but is still signing in every day. Just an FYI.

daichki 07/ 3/2013 #

pebbleygood, sure, if your partner likes handmade items, go ahead and send her. It is a good idea that you send it as extra. ^^
