Description:

For this swap you will send one pattern each to two partners. Find a pattern from a cross stitch magazine and make sure the page is clean and not crumpled or torn. Fold the pattern carefully and place in a regular DL envelope (the kind that bills usually come in, google it if you are not sure). Then put a swap card or note with your username and swap name on it and 3 card bobbins in the envelope. Seal the envelopes and wait for partners to be assigned. Once you have your partners name and address you can send them.

Nitty gritty.....

  • This is a blind swap so you will have to just pick any pattern and that means it is not profile related. It should be a surprise to the person who gets it.

  • Please stay away from religious themes or holiday related themes as not everybody celebrates the same holidays. Also I dont think I need to say it but just to clear it up, no offensive or risque patterns please although most magazines don't have themes that are.

  • You may photocopy the pattern if you like and send the same pattern to both partners if you want to keep the original but please make sure that the copy is a good one and easy to read.

  • Please make sure the pattern includes a colour chart, it may be any make of thread but it is important that it is included

  • The pattern must be in English.

  • You may NOT rate down if you do not like the pattern. The fun is in the surprise.

  • Only one pattern is required but please make sure it is the whole pattern. Sometimes patterns can be spread out over two pages so please make sure you include both pages. You may include more than one but only if you want to.

  • Once again, please make sure the page is clean, not wrinkled, clear, not folded more than it needs to be (an A4 page can be folded 3 times to fit snugly in a DL envelope) and clear to read.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions. This swap is international and I will keep it safe and fun for all involved. Three weeks to find the patterns and 1 week to send.

Card Bobbins? I assume the little white cards that you wind the floss on???

institches 07/19/2013 #

Yes, what are card bobbins?

nasreen 07/19/2013 #

That is exactly what they are, those small cards that you wind the floss onto.

Just the bobbins and no thread? Just checking. Thanks.

nasreen 07/21/2013 #

That is correct. just the plain bobbins will do ;)

Hi, question about the card bobbins. Can they be the cardboard ones? Or do they have to be plastic?

nasreen 08/ 7/2013 #

Any type will be fine @PVMcHugh Even handmade ones made from firm card or cereal boxes are fine.
