Description:

Hi everyone. This is a creative writing/odd exhange in which participants will create a travel journal or a short travel log of a place/event and also send a "souvenir" from that place to your partner. The catch is, you will not have really visited the place or event. You will be making it all up and making it sound convincing.

Some ideas I thought of for places or events were Paris, a Native American powwow, Hong Kong, etc. But you can also go all out and pretend to have visited the moon, the future, etc. :) Have fun!

The souvenir can be something you created (having done your best work) or something that you purchased which makes you think of the place you are pretending to have visited. For example, if I was doing a powow, I might send a photograph of Native American dancers, a book on Native American history, beaded earrings, etc. If I was visiting Mars, I might send a "Mars rock" or a drawing of a martian I saw there. :)

You will send to one swap partner.

I will drop all people with history of no sends from this swap. I will also drop people who I think have created a duplicate account for flaking. Given the time and sometimes expense needed for these exchanges, it is not fair to swap here if you are not serious.

No dollar amount. International.

Please email with any questions.

That sounds really fun but I think I would need more time to get that creative, any chance of extending the dates?

I'm on board with littledragon here. it might be fun to do my travel log on one of my partner's likes or to ensure that I do NOT make one that leans towards their dislikes. I'm going to have to think abit more on this one before I sign up. Already have some ideas brewing!

Okay, I'll move the send by date up until the end of January. Glad you think it will be a fun project!

Thank you, I have joined now ;]

Oooh, I have such a good idea, I almost can't keep it to myself but I won't spoil the surprise for my swappee. Just a hint for my partner, I would love to read about a very imaginative, maybe historic or fantasy, trip but it is your faux vacation, go wherever the mood takes you. :)

Hi everyone! I'm glad you all are excited. I am too; still thinking of ideas! Jenna, I am going to do something historic/fantasy, I think.

Finshed my project yesterday. That was such fun! I look forward to sending it.

Are we supposed to create this journal for our partner's preference of place? Or can we use our own idea?

Changeling 12/28/2006 #

Use your own idea. :)

Please email the participants and make sure that their profiles are filled out.I have a new partner and want to make sure that he/she is commited. I have been on the end of swaps where I sent my items but haven't received anything, and all of those participants did not have completed profiles. Thanks.

I'm really looking forward to this swap. My travel log is almost finished!!!

Changeling 01/17/2007 #

No worries. We are all profiled at this time. ;)
