Any questions? Post below, PM me or ask in the group forum. Now that we are done with that ~ this months books!! :)

October Book Club! Choose from ~

NOTE ~ if the book I have chosen is part of a series (such as this months Game of Thrones or Shopaholic), and you have read it, you MAY read the book in the series you are currently on. Just make a note to your partners that it is a part of the series of the one that is chosen.

After you read your book, write to you partner all about the book and please write at least two full size pages (8.5x10 or A4), by hand, or 1 FULL page (no big spacing, fonts or margins) if typed. Here are some questions that you can answer about the book to help you tell about it, please answer at least 4 (half) of the questions ~

  • What was the book about?
  • Did you like it, or dislike it?
  • What was your favorite part or character, what was your least favorite?
  • Have you read other books by the author, would you read more books by the author because of this book?
  • Were there situations or characters that you identified with, and how?
  • If you could change something about the book, what would it be and how would you change it?
  • Did you like the book from the beginning or did it take a while for you to get into it?
  • Would you ask the author a question if you could? What question would you ask?

No rating requirements, since it's in the group. Please send on or before the 6th. If I get on to assign partners at midnight on the 7th/8th and it wasn't sent, I won't allow that person in the current swap. Please sent on time! Don't forget to rate your partner when you have received your swap! It's the other half to the Swap-Bot transaction!

Holy crap, the Game of Thrones book is 800+ pages long! Wow.

Question about Sherlock -- Are we to read the 1800 page complete work? Or just pick a novel? Or pick a short story collection?

Anything you choose from within it. It was said as "to read" a few times, so I thought I would enjoy it. A novel or a few short stories. Whatever is enough to answer enough questions about it and make your "report" interesting for your swap partner.

Me either lady, so sorry! :) Cuckoo's Calling was pretty good, you should try it.

The pickings are slim now, such a diverse group here!! We'll get more batches of books to choose from next month.

I liked the shopaholic series. I have the mountains echoed on my TBR bookshelf (to be read)

Game of Thrones was on my to-read list, but I really don't know whether I'll manage it this month. So if you think Cuckoo's Calling was OK, @ImzadiRose I might give that a try. The big problem is getting hold of a copy of it. There are 110 copies in libraries across my county, and 105 reservations on it, so my chances of getting it through the library before January are pretty slim! Amazon it is then...

I finally finished Game of Thrones. I actually paused twice to read other books in the middle.

I read The Complete Sherlock Holmes when I was in grade school, I still have a copy somewhere from 1929
