Description:

For this swap you'll have 1 partner and you'll create 1 piece of mail art for your partner.

The theme of the mail art is sender's choice but the TWIST is that your mail art envelope must be sent in a plastic sleeve and it must have some type of moving pieces between the envelope and the plastic sleeve. Sort of like a snow globe! When you shake the envelope your "pieces" should move around. You can use little die-cuts, punches, confetti or anything else you'd like--so long as it moves around between the envelope and the sleeve.

  • Envelope must measure at least 5" x 6" but can be larger.

  • Theme is sender's choice but please avoid gory or religious themes as those 2 are typically mentioned as "do not sends"

  • Use "real" postage stamps instead of printed postage

  • Send an inexpensive, flat surprise for your partner

I've done several mail arts this way and the best sleeves to use are the ones that stickers come in. They're so clear and strong.

Send on time, remember to rate your partner, and have fun with this unique technique for mail art!

p.s. the picture above is my cat, Junie! She's asleep laying against a blanket on the sofa. The picture's so cute I couldn't resist!

I've sent many a mail art envie/postcard in a sleeve and it's great fun. Thus far, I've not heard of any mishaps with the envies or PC's going through the postal equipment. This sounds like fun.

is the address on the sleeve or the envelope and the stamps

@ShabbyJules . . . I have done it both ways. The good thing about putting it on the sleeve is that the receiver can use the envie again! But . . . feel free to do it either way--however you are inspired.
