Description:

I enjoy postcard swaps so much and am often delighted by the little glimpses of other people's lives that they offer. Here's a chance to get to know the sender a little bit better because you'll receive multiple cards from them, written and sent over the course of a week.... Interested? Read on!

For this swap you will have 1 partner, and you will send that partner 7 postcards. On each postcard you should write a diary-type entry.

Write your first card on 6/15 and your last one on 6/21. At the end of each day, give yourself some time to record the day's events. What did you do that day? What did you think about? Did something make you especially happy or especially unhappy? You can write anything along these lines, as long as you're giving some sort of view of your day. The next morning, pop that postcard in the mail, and write the next card that evening. Repeat until the week is out! (Of course, since no mail moves in the US at least on Sundays, the Saturday postcard will have to be mailed on the following Monday.)

LATER ADDITION: If you don't have access to a mailbox every day, you can write a card a day and then mail all the cards at once on 6/23.

Types of postcards sent are the sender's choice. Both commercially produced cards and hand-made cards are fine, though if your card is delicate you may want to send it in an envelope (and that's okay for this swap).

Other details: 1) This is an international swap; please be sure you're willing to pay international postage for 7 postcards if you are assigned a partner not in your country. 2) No newbies for this one; sorry. 3) Swappers with a rating below 4.90 or a profile that may cause concern will be dropped before partners are assigned. If there's something on your profile that you think might raise eyebrows, please PM me in advance. 4) Before partners are assigned I'll also drop anyone who hasn't logged into swap-bot in over a week.

Sorry for all that bureaucratese--I just want to make sure that everyone receives their postcards and that all swappers participating are ready to write and send!

Thanks, StwbyQT & newrule! I think it'll be fun, and I'm glad other people are game for giving it a try!

This is such a great idea! I'm going to be in Chicago on vacation for some of the days for this swap and I think it'll be neat to write about my days while there. Not to mention neat to send my partner some Chicago posties. ;)

Great, Irene! Enjoy Chicago!

Wrote my last one a few minutes ago, and will bring it to the post office tomorrow. We do have Sunday hours at my local office, though I don't think anything actually leaves the building until Monday.

It was lots of fun!

This was a fun and interesting swap. I found that I really was using the postcards as a small diary, and looked forward to writing them each night.
