Butterfly and Flowers Postage stamp ATC /APC

I would like to do an ongoing Postage stamp theme swap for this group.

If you are like me you have saved your postage stamps from your snail mail.

The way I see it if you are mailing one ATC you might as well send 2 for the same price. Also if you are like me you dont just make one ATC you tend to enjoy the process and make 2 or more that are of the same theme. So following my logic the best idea is 2 cards to 2 partners.

One card will have a butterfly postage stamp and one card will have a flower postage stamp. Make 2 butterfly cards, make 2 flower cards, send a butterfly and flower card to each partner.

You are in this group because you have some interest in ATC cards, but a reminder that atcs are 2.5 x 3.5 and if are making APC which are Altered Playing cards, the playing cards must be of that size as well. Please measure those APCS as not all decks of cards are the correct size.

All cards need to be made of a sturdy backing. Please dont just use a slip of paper or one layer of card stock.

Ok so really what is sticker slapping anyway? Besides a big no no. Please understand that you need to do more than Slap on a postage stamp. You will need to add some other media forms: use some distress ink, or layer papers, or colllage, add some bling. Make a great background. Something beyond adding a stamp to some paper.

TECHNICAL stuff, I am sure you will all ask. You will need to use a real postage stamp, canceled is the general idea. The stamp needs to be the focal point of the card. I like to use 1/2 of butterfly stamps as a accent on cards, but that is not the idea here. You can use both a butterfly and flower postage stamp on both cards if you desire. Just make the 2 cards to partner 1 are different from each other. You can send the same cards to partner Two as you made for Partner 1

Mailing BLAH BLAH BLAH Protect your cards with some kind of waterproof barrier, esp as this time of year some areas get precipitation. If your cards are chunky or bumpy, you will need to add another 20 cents and mark them non machineable or hand cancel. This is your art protect, it and consider it worthy of an additional 20 cents.

It is up to the sender to decide what info to add to the back of the card. Another great idea is to use a mailing address label on the back, if for some reason the envelop were to tear open, eventually the PO will get the card back to the sender. It takes weeks but it has happened. At the Bare minimum Please add some contact info on the back of your card. Some players go all out and add the swap name, a title of their art and even their blood type, and shoe size.

Somewhere, inside or outside of your envelope, you need to list your name, swap bot name, the Swap name. Add Swap-bot to your info as many of us swap ATCs other places.

This is senders choice so you may begin your work as soon as the muse moves you. I will allow 2 weeks after the sign up date for mailing. Esp since it close to all the holidays.

How to rate: Your partner will earn a minimum 5 rating if they send you 2 cards, one with a butterfly postage stamp and one with a flower postage stamp. Art is in the eye of the beholder. Please dont rate down if you dont like the colors or media forms used. But if you have some issues with quality, contact me. I will help mediate those issues and will angel this swap after you have contacted your sender twice and rated them a 1.

Bad swappers will not only be banned but risk the chance that I might send my 14 year old drama queen to live this them for a week. Postage due with no return address. You do not want this! Be a good swapper.

Be kind! I hate that saying "save the Drama for your Momma", cause I am the Momma and dont want the Drama. I tell my kids save your drama for your PE teacher. (PE teaches are Sadist anyway)

I realize this is around the holidays but some of us still need to create to keep sane around this time. If this time frame doesnt work for you dont worry there will be other swaps. But also dont join if you are going to need to tell your partners the latest sob story and then need to mail late. Find time and join, or wait til the next swap.
