Description:

This is the second in the make me a scarf series.

Winter is officially here and it's time to bundle up. For this swap we will be making scarves to keep our partners warm in the chilly months ahead.

Scarves should be knit or crochet. Beginner knitters/crocheters are okay. Just be sure to send something that you would like to receive.

This is a sender's choice swap. That means you pick the yarn, the colors, and the pattern. That being said, it would be nice to check your partner's profile for likes/dislikes/allergies.

You will have two weeks to make and send the scarves. I feel that is plenty of time to get everything done after you've been assigned a partner. If you think you can't meet this deadline, please don't sign up. I WILL angel if there is a problem, after an appropriate rating has been given.

I'm marking this as a USA only swap. If there is any interest, I can make an international one.

The usual applies. Minimum rating of 4.8. No recent, unexplained 1's or 3's. If you'd like to appeal, contact me and we'll talk. No unrated swappers for this one.

While I've yet to learn how to knit or crochet, I've learned how to make quite a bit on the knitting looms. Is this ok for this swap?

MorahLaura 01/15/2014 #

Loom knitting is still knitting! :-)

ABackwoodsLife 01/16/2014 #

Thanks @MorahLaura that's how I look at it but I want to check with @anwaname because there are some who are adamant that if it's done on a loom it's not actually knitting...

MorahLaura 01/16/2014 #

I love my loom and I think it comes out looking the same as needle knitting. Well, it comes out the same as someone who's GOOD at needle knitting; anything I tried to knit with needles would come out with holes and loopy pieces of thread all over it due to dropped stitches!

ABackwoodsLife 01/16/2014 #

@MorahLaura lol I'm the same way!

anwaname 01/19/2014 #

@ABackwoodsLife - As far as I'm concerned, loom knitting counts. It's about the only type of knitting I can do properly. ;)

Thanks @anwaname ! :-) I'm looking forward to this swap

One partner = one scarf? Also, are cowls or infinities acceptable or only scarfs? Thanks :)

mutantpenguin 01/29/2014 #

Ah, thanks crbertsch that was my question... how about a cowl? I love making those either knit or crochet. Will be watching for a day or so.

I received a really nice scarf in the last round. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pass on this round.

Have fun everyone and hopefully I can catch the next round!

Infinities are fine.

@Mutantpenguin - awesome name btw. I'm going to say that cowls are for you and your partner to decide. Personally, I would not, just because this does say it's a dedicated scarf swap. Basically, be prepared to do a scarf if you join, but it never hurts to ask.

anwaname 02/ 1/2014 #

@crbertsch - yep, one scarf for one partner. You can do more if you feel particularly inspired. :)

Thank you anwaname
