Description:

The original coordinator for this swap (zasa) has graciously given me permission to continue the series in her stead. So here are the swap details:

  • Tangle an upper-case "M", using at least one tangle design that begins with 'M'. For more information on Zentangle and tangles, please visit www.zentangle.com or http://tanglepatterns.com/ for loads of help and ideas.

  • This is for ATCs (2.5"x3.5") only. Please use sturdy card stock, Bristol board, etc. or back your ATC with sturdy paper. All cards need to show the following on the back: your real name, user name, swap name, place of origin (optional), names of tangles used.

  • One (1) partner, one (1) ATC.

  • Please do your best work; something you would be proud to keep and show off. Using color is allowed, but completely optional.

  • Minimum 4.9 rating is required to participate. Unrated swappers and newbies will be welcomed with the proviso that there is a well-filled profile and a link to samples of your artwork, such as Flickr. Flakers need not apply. I reserve the right to ban at my discretion.

  • Be courteous enough to take the time to rate your partner, following Swap-bot rating guidelines, keeping in mind you are NOT rating your partner on whether or not you liked what you received, only on if it met the requirements of the swap. If there are problems, contact your partner first.

  • If you have questions, please leave a comment below or contact me personally. I will do my best to maintain zasa's schedule (signup/withdraw - Saturday; partners assigned - Sunday; shipping deadline - Friday). Please be patient with me if something goes amiss with that somewhere along the line...

Let's have some tangling fun!

EEEKKK, so I'm new to swap-bot, and Zentangle. Maybe I'm biting off too much, but before I pull out of this swap I'm going to ask a few questions. ONE: I'm curious about "sturdy card stock" Currently I use 110lb card stock, and I want to be 100% sure that this is "study" enough? I don't want to send something less than par for my first swap. TWO: Sometimes I use "tangles" that just come into my head, and I don't know if they're really zentangles....Do I just not list them on the back, or should I continue a search for a name...I really don't think I want to try coming up with a name. THREE: (This is due to being new to Swap-bot and I'm sorry because this doesn't belong here) I'm trying to send a message to someone, but I have no idea how to message people through swap-bot. Any help would be amazing!!! Thank you!!!

Let me help you first with sending a message -- if you click on the link to a user (for example, lv2paint) that will send you to their profile page. There is a little box on the top right that says "send message". That message will go directly to the user's inbox.

Card stock does indeed come in various lb. weights. I personally prefer to use Bristol board because certain inks can bleed through lesser weighted papers and sometimes they are just flimsy. I know a lot of artists use the card stock that comes in a packaged ream, but it's just not something I recommend. But this is up to the artist's best good judgment.

For this particular swap only ONE tangle needs to "start" with the letter. So maybe use just one from tanglepatterns.com, and make up the rest as you are inspired. Unless otherwise instructed, lots of Zentangle swaps don't really specify "named" tangles. And there are TONS of gifted tangle artists (like yourself) who are creating their own thing.

Lastly, welcome to Swap-bot! I hope you enjoy all the swapping that's available. And I hope you decide to join in this one...

Ok, as for this swap I think I'm set with meeting the requirements. I'm so excited to be making my first swap soon. As for my issues I'm having with messages, I'm still having difficulties. I went to lv2paint (and a few other profiles) but I don't find anything that says "send message" A message was sent to me, and when I pressed "reply" I was just brought back to the inbox page. I really feel terrible about spamming here, but I can't seem to post in the forum or anywhere that would be a better place to ask my questions. Thank you SOOOOO much for your help and support.

yes, you will be sent back to your own inbox...there is a pull-down menu where you can see your "sent" messages. That was a little confusing to me at first, trying to discover all the ways the site works. Hang in there!
