Genre fiction is popular fiction (with all of the various sub-genres and / combinations thereof). For this swap, send your partner a new or gently used paperback novel from your favorite genre. Include a note explaining why you selected that particular book to send.

You don't get to fret if you receive a book in a genre you don't normally read. Expand your horizons and let that book be an introduction to you!

If you're writing popular fiction and need a writers' organization to join, one or more of the above will suit you quite nicely.

Note: There are lots of other writers' groups, including many that are specific to the sub-genres, i.e. thriller writers, urban fantasy writer, inspirational writers, etc. Google what you write and you'll find them.

Check with the post office. Depending on the book you choose, it may be cheaper to mail Media Rate rather than first class.
