Description:

In this swap, you will have one partner to whom you will send a vintage apron. The apron can be handmade or bought from a vintage/antique store and can be a bib apron (one that covers the whole body) or just a half-apron (one that goes only around the waist), the key is that it must be vintage. Check your partners profile if you plan on making one by hand and try to suit their tastes! Local antique stores usually carry an abundance of neat little aprons for cheap, and even thrift stores can have interesting ones.

If purchasing an apron, try to keep it under $15.00 - most retro aprons don't run much over that. For extra hearts, try sending atomic dishtowels or recipe cards.

Please comment below with your measurements and apron preference (bib or half) for your partner to review.

Newbies will full profile are allowed, but I reserve the right to ban those whose profiles are sparse. For everyone else, you must have a minimum rating of a 4.00 and no recent no-sends.

Happy swapping, everyone!

I would love to have a fullsize apron. I'm a full figured petite, go figure. So nothing too long, but definitely full at the top. But other than that, I'm open!!

martiques 06/25/2008 #

I would love a full-body apron in a medium. Thanks!

roldanca 06/25/2008 #

Hi!! I'm so excited for this swap! I would like a full apron in a Large. :)

greenplant 06/27/2008 #

Preferably full apron in medium, but I'm not picky. :D

Dooped 06/27/2008 #

Hello, lovelies! I'd prefer a bib apron in a size small-extra small, if at all possible. Thanks!

Bellapink 06/28/2008 #

I'm open to any kind of aprons. I love flowers!

I love full aprons, medium size. I have an apron section in my profile, whoever gets my name can look there for inspiration if they want!

shastalouise 06/29/2008 #

i would really enjoy a full length apron, but anything will be wonderful. i am a size small!

Sophia6 06/29/2008 #

hi there. i collect bib aprons. i fit small to medium sized. thank you!! something in purple would be extra sweet.

psycobambi 06/30/2008 #

Hi. I would prefer a full apron that ties in the back, as opposed to one which is fitted. I am a L/XL and pretty curvy. Thanks!

ricatmia 07/ 4/2008 #

Hi all, I am a Uk16-18 - large!! Prefer 1/2 aprons, but I am happy to receive anything vintage, as I may use for my artwork projects. So anything really!

Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to ANY KIND of apron, as I love them all. I'm a US size 16 or Large. I especially like vintage nautical/cottage/shabby stuff. My current color scheme is blues/greens/naturals. But again, I'd love anything, really!

Can someone (possibly the coordinator!) jump in and clarify what a bib apron is?? The swap description states a bib apron is one that goes around the waist... I've always known a bib apron to be a full apron, it covers the chest, too, like a baby's bib would. I googled "bib apron" and my understanding seems to be correct: a bib apron is a full apron. A half apron is one that ties around the waist and only covers the lap. I don't want to send someone the wrong type of apron!

Dooped 07/ 7/2008 #

Its4donna,

I'm so sorry for all the confusion! My understanding was that a bib apron was the same as a half-apron, basically one that just goes around the waist like this one (http://www.tias.com/cgi-bin/google.fcgi/itemKey=3923271912). That's what my grandmother always called them, so I guess I just figured that was true!

No one else has brought up my foul, so If your partner has stated that they are interested in a bib apron my best advice is to clarify with them that they are interested in a half-apron. I'm going to change the information on the swap page accordingly so no one else gets confused!

Again, I'm so sorry! Let me know if you have any more questions and happy swapping! - Penelope

I LOVE IT! Thanks Tangee ;)

greenplant 07/18/2008 #

I'm almost done!

I will mail out today, barring any exploding sewing machines or whatnot. ;)

Penelope, any idea why I can't see the pics in the gallery? I click on the gallery slideshow and it opens but nothing is there.
