Description:

For this swap we'll be swapping monoprints made using the Gelli Arts printing plate or a homemade gelatin plate.

The details:

  • 6 prints for 1 partner.
  • Prints are sender's choice in color, style, and theme, and should be anywhere between 4"x6" and 6"x6" (5"x7" is also fine, just trying to keep these within range to mail in a 6"x9" envelope).
  • You may use any paper you wish to print on. Cheap white copy paper, cardstock, book pages, deli paper, etc. is all fine, the sky's the limit!
  • Use any monoprint techniques you wish, but please don't add anything extra to the finished print. Whatever techniques you choose to use must all be done on the printing plate itself. We're swapping just prints this time, free of embellishments, doodling, stamping, or anything else added after the print has been pulled. Layering, of course, is fine, as long as it's done on the plate itself.
  • If you'd like, sign the back of your print. It's not required, but could help a partner to distinguish between different people's prints.
  • Include a note with the swap name and your username, and also letting your partner know whether or not you're ok with them using your prints in a future art project.
  • Please send prints you are proud of and that you'd be happy to receive yourself.

Questions are always welcome, either in the comments here or in a PM. I do try to check my swaps for comments fairly often.

Happy printing!

I would like my prints to be 6x6" if possible, because that is a size that I often use to make envelopes for greeting cards! If that size is not possible then anything larger than 4x6" would be great, (so I can use on mail art postcards!

Thanks for the heads up, Susi!

If anyone else has a preference, please feel free to list it here. I'm not going to make it a requirement for this swap that swappers must send the size you ask for, but it certainly doesn't hurt to ask. Your partner may be totally willing to accommodate you.
