Since I know there is usually a big response to 'swaps' like these, I'd like to host one myself for a change. Kyvano is the 7-year old son of an old friend of mine. To everybody's surprise Kyvano was born with Spina Bifida. Doctors told my friend rightaway he would never be able to walk, yet the little warrior keeps on meeting all the milestones at his own pace and time. He's a true fighter! Since his birth he's had several major surgeries; the last one being just a couple of days ago. Now that Kyvano is getting older, he also starts to realise he's different from other kids, often resulting in depressing thoughts. Due to his disabilities he finds it hard to have friends, and a few months ago he turned out to be allergic to his cats - the only friends he'd had in a long time. It was devastating to take even these away from him, but there was no other option. Taking all this in account I contacted my friend and asked if I could sign him up to receive postcards to cheer him up. She was all in for the idea. So for this swap you will send Kyvano a postcard. Tell him where you come from, let him know any 7yo might find interesting to know, cheer him up ...If you'd like you can add a little flat surprise like stickers or so... Let's bombard the little guy with good vibes! Kyvano likes cars and playmobile. He's just learned to ride a bike too, which he's so proud of! Send your postcards to: Kyvano Cnudde, Urselweg 8, 9880 Aalter, Belgium *If you decide to send, but not join: please drop a line down below, so that I have an idea how many cards he will receive. if you decide to join the swap - you will also send an email to your partner letting him/her know what made you join this swap, and if you know any other of initiatives like these Thanks to all! |
