Description:

I hosted this kind of swap about 6 months ago and it was really fun. I will post 10 quotes and you will take pictures that in your artistic mind, relate to that quote. This will be an email swap so it's a no cost, but somewhat time consuming, swap. I really enjoyed doing this last time and I think you will find the challenge quite fun too.

Here is the link to my flickr pictures taken for the last swap I hosted, just to give you an idea. flickr set

Here are the quotes:

1.) I think more people should plant more flowers in more places, to make the world a more colorful place. ~ Alan Stevens

2.) What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

3.) When you are seventeen you aren't really serious. ~ Max Lerner

4.) People are looking for ways to reduce their transportation costs, and there is no better way to do that than public transportation. People are making what I would call intelligent decisions to take mass transit. ~ Douglas Hartmayer

5.) Remember crime against property is not real crime. People look at an oil painting and admire the use of brushstrokes to convey meaning. People look at a graffiti painting and admire the use of a drainpipe to gain access. ~ Banksy

6.) When you follow your bliss... doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors; and where there wouldn't be a door for anyone else. ~ Joseph Campbell

7.) It kills you to see them grow up. But I guess it would kill you quicker if they didn't. ~ Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

8.) We can learn much about other people on the Internet. And, too, much about ourselves. ~ Paulus

9.) A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world. ~ Oscar Wilde

10.) If you dam a river, it stagnates. Running water is beautiful water. ~ English Proverb

OK now for the rules:

1.) You must have a complete and full profile (Newbies welcome if the above rule is followed.)

2.) You must not have any no sends

3.) The pictures must be your own and not copied from the internet

4.) No improper, or offensive pictures please

5.) Have a great time!!

Is it okay to use a photo you've taken already? I have one that would be perfect!

lvpoohbr2 07/ 4/2008 #

Of course. As long as it's your photo. ΓƒΕ“

I may do the same for one or two of these quotes. I'll try and take new pictures but I have a couple of photos I took a month or so ago that would fit into one or two of these categories.

Are we posting to flickr? 10 photos seem a lot for an attachment!

lvpoohbr2 07/ 8/2008 #

That sounds great. If you don't already have a flickr account, you can go to flickr and get a free account.

If you do not want to do this, feel free to email them in an attachment or post them on your blog and give your partner the link. Any more questions or ideas please feel free to ask! ΓƒΕ“

What about photo manipulations...are they okay?

lvpoohbr2 07/18/2008 #

Sure, as long as the original picture is your own work.

Loved your presentation, Simone! How'd you do that?! Very cool!

Simone 08/18/2008 #

Thanks Carol.

I used google docs (one of their templates) for the first time. Its similar to Microsoft power point. You can insert different backgrounds and take away some stuff from the background.

When you publish it gives you the html that you can use to stick facebook, blogs or websites.
