Description:

I've hosted this swap in another group and loved creating and exchanging the Teesha-Moore-style patches. Who wants to give it a try?!

We will:

  • Send one patch to each of two partners. Follow the links to the Teesha Moore tutorials posted at the bottom of the swap description.

  • Choose fabrics that would be considered "brights" (which could also be bright colors on a black, white, or colored background).

  • Make our patches between the approximate sizes of 6 to 9 square inches using a square or rectangular shape. Examples would be 3"x2"=6 sq. inches, 6x1, 5x1.5, 4x2...whatever speaks best to your fabric pattern and design whim.

  • Stuff the patches as shown in the video to make it a lightly stuffed "pillowy" patch.

  • Use some thread stitching besides the stitching that is required around the edges. This may be hand stitched or machine stitching.

  • Include another type of embellishment such as beads, sequins, or buttons.

  • You do not have to be an experienced sew-er to participate. This is a very inexact, artsy process!

  • Please send and rate in a timely manner.

  • Have fun creating!

If this is successful, perhaps we can make additional swaps to create enough patches to make an item. We can also branch out into other colors and themes.

Editing the dates for later this summer in hopes that more people can join. :-)

ok, this looks amazing! I finally had a chance to sit down and watch it, and I realized this is exactly the project I can take with me to all of my little trips, looking at houses, visiting my SIL, etc... I'm going to wait to join until I've actually finished a couple, and know I won't be moving smack dab in the middle of send by dates.. if I do end up moving then, but have some done, will we be doing more of these? I really love her end result in the lessons. I think I would make it with this signature style. so cool!

10 pillows made (easy to do as a group). 4 of those have been embroidery stitched, and just need embellishment. Monday, I find out about when I can expect to move, I think... :)

looks like our sign date should be late August. With any luck, and decent postal service times, we should be done and rated by then. :P I still hope we'll do more of these though. :D

Glad you are enjoying making these. I think they're a perfect little project too. Congrats on an upcoming move!
