Description:

This will be an edible adventure! You'll get to try something new or different; something local that you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere else. Maybe you know of a special chocolate with chilli, or a type of nuts, or rare cookies, or differently flavored toffee that is unique to your area. The goodies can be spicy, sweet, sour, savory - the options are limitless.

For this swap:

  • You will have 1 partner.
  • You will send a minimum of $5 in edible goodies. The treats have to be unique to your area. This means its has to a local/regional edible.
  • You CAN NOT send international brands (Hershey's, Nestle, Doritos, Kellog;s) or food that can easily be found anywhere else. (pancake batter, powdered orange juice, instant chicken soup).
  • Add a pretty note explaining what makes your item (s) unique.
  • This is sender's choice but please check your partner's profile for allergies and dislikes.

  • Package your items appropriately. Glass items and fragile foods should be wrapped and boxed to prevent breakage. It's a good idea to use a plastic baggie for anything that can leak, melt, or tear open during shipping.

  • Please send items in their original, sealed packaging for health and customs reasons. Be sure to check expiration dates and only send in-date food items that will not expire before reaching your partner.
  • Send and rate on time. On the rare occasion that you may need to send a bit late, please contact your partner AND the swap coordinator before the swap deadline has passed.
  • If you have any questions, feel free to send me an IM or post a message; I'd be more than happy to help.

Send something you'd like to receive, you have plenty of time to put it together.

I'd just like to say to my future swap partner that I can't find Hershey's or Doritos, nor pancake batter, powdered orange juice (I'm very curious about this!) or instant chicken soup here in Italy... I guess the only international brands you can find here are Nestlé and Kellogg's. As you might or might not know, Italians are very proud of their foods, so international brands are not too common. I guess this makes it easier for my partner to find something to send to me :-D

I wish I could say the same for Peru. Many of our national brands were bought by Nestle, Coke, Pepsi-Cola, Huggies, etc. The only brand I approve of is Nestle, when it bought D'onofrio and improved our ice creams and cereals (and I mean all around; with the new competition, national ice creams had to improve or close down). Still, the brand changed many of the chocolates, cookies and sweet which now taste like..ugh. ..I don't get the powdered juices either, but there they are, filling half a supermarket isle...

Real powdered juice, not fruit-flavored, non-juice drinks like Kool Aid? I've never heard of that! Sounds interesting.
