Description:

US and Canda Only

For this swap, we will each fill one journal with at least twenty entries on topics of your choosing. The only catch is that each entry must contain a list of some kind.

Guidelines

  • You may use any type of journal that you want (hardcover, softcover, Moleskine, handmade, and so on and so forth), but it must be an actual, physical journal. This means no journals that are simply typed pieces of paper stapled together. Please send something of the same quality that you'd like to receive.

  • Feel free to decorate and embellish the journal if you choose.

  • You may write about any topics you like, but please be respectful of your partner. While you may write about topics like politics/religion/sexuality/etc., please consider your partner's feelings...And please don't try to convert them to your beliefs.

  • Each of the entries must contain some kind of list. You can make the list a primary feature of the entry, or something rather secondary. (Example: your entire entry might be a list of resolutions for the next month...Or it might be a story about what you did today, with a list of the foods you ate embedded within it).

  • If you prefer not to handwrite your journal, please paste the typed entries into a physical journal.

  • This swap requires commitment. Please don't join if you aren't able to put time into it.

Topic Suggestions/Ideas (feel free to add your own in the comments!

  • Things you did before noon today.
  • CDs you couldn't live without.
  • Goals/plans for the next six months.
  • Reasons you are partial to your significant other.
  • Personality traits you have.
  • Titles of poems/movies/songs/books you like.
  • Household chores you can't stand.
  • Top ways you waste time online.
  • Favorite swaps you've participated in.

...and so on. Use your imagination. For inspiration, you might try looking over some of the "100 Things" swaps that have taken place on Swap-Bot (type 100 Things into the search for some ideas) or try listography.com.

Swapper Requirements

  • US and Canada only.

  • Ratings of 4.8 or higher.

  • No recent "no sends."

  • You must have completed at least five mail swaps in order to participate. Sorry--no newbies for this one.

I reserve the right to ban anyone who seems questionable.

Those of you who have already joined, please feel free to go ahead and get started. There's no need to wait until August 1st (unless you plan on somehow tailoring this to your partner's profile...). As long as you have at least 20 entries by the send date, it doesn't matter what days you write.

Thanks for joining!

Are there any guidelines as to how long the lists should be? I mean, are say 5 item lists acceptable or do they need to be long ones?

howunremarkable 07/11/2008 #

Nope, it's really up to you. I figure some days you'll have longer lists than others, so do whatever works with each entry.

OMG i love this one ..I was just looking for a journal swap

angel1985 07/17/2008 #

So sad this is US and Canada only sigh I need to move to North America! I'd love to participate. Have fun!

howunremarkable 07/17/2008 #

angel, feel free to start an international one if you'd like...If I could afford to send more international packages, I definitely would have made it that way...Not right now for me though :(

lace 07/25/2008 #

reminds me of listography ...give I need to buy :)

fsjbrit 07/27/2008 #

lace 07/31/2008 #

I'm going to be extending the swap date fairly significantly. My life is a bit hectic right now, so changing the time frame is the only way I can not neglect my hostess duties.

You can, of course, swap your journal any time after you have the twenty entries. Or you can keep it a bit longer and maybe add some more...Whatever works for you.

Please PM me with any questions.

angellise97 - Your journal is heading to the post office on Thursday and will be to you soon. I hope you enjoy!

lace 09/ 3/2008 #

did you change the deadline again? I remember it being earlier....

ellie1200 09/ 4/2008 #

I wondered the same thing. Seems fishy to change the deadline without even notifying everyone...

lw2dragonflies 09/ 6/2008 #

yeah i thought the deadline was the 15th...hmm well, laced2sugardoll, yours will be mailed the first part of next week..if i saw the date has changed again, i wouldnt have packaged it up yet. oh well i suppose.

agmcgaha 09/ 8/2008 #

will you be doing this one again? it sounds like so much fun!

howunremarkable 09/13/2008 #

Sorry that I didn't mention the date change! I was certain I had posted it, but apparently I was mistaken. I apologize. I wasn't attempting to do anything tricky...My life is currently as bit hectic, so I didn't feel like I could fulfill hosting duties (like finding angels if necessary and seeing that everyone was rated, etc.) at this point. So sorry for not letting you guys no--I was sure I'd posted a notice about it, but it seems I failed at that.

agmcgaha, LaceD2sugarDoll has offered to offer a second round, and I think there was an international version in the works as well.
