Description:

We're in the year 1506, in Milaan, Italy. The Spanish Inquisition is lurking behind every corner...
You are part of a secret gnostic alliance led by the grand Master Leonardo DaVinci himself. He has been initiating you in this secret Knowledge for years. The Inquisition is now on his trail and to preserve this Knowledge (with capital 'K', yes ;-) ) he asked you to hide it in plain sight. Use your intelligence and imagination and don't let your 'Messer' down...

For this swap you will have 1 partner and pass them on something that contains the hidden gnosis Leonardo thought you about.

Rules for swapping and joining:

  • dive into the life and personality of Leonardo. Find out what kind of person he was (if we will ever REALLY know), what things fascinated him and what knowledge he might have had.

  • create (or re-create) some kind of work (any media is allowed) where you have woven this secret knowledge in to. Think outside the box!

  • I am giving you a lot of time for this so you can put enough time and effort in it.

  • At least 15 rated type 2 or 3 swaps. No specific rating requirement but I check profiles thoroughly and will ban people with a bad swap attitude (non-raters, flakers, late senders, no or bad communication etc).

CREATIVE HINT: Leonardo was more, much more, than only a painter...

This is a swap where you'll have to use your little grey cells, like my dear inspector Poirot would say. No strict guidelines so you have lots of freedom to use your own creativity. This is not only for crafters ;-)

The Spanish Inquisition is luring behind every corner...

Lurking? =D

Lacrimosa 08/23/2014 #

Oh yes... thanks :-D

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Their chief elements are allure and fish bait!

Er, was that right?!

Lacrimosa 08/23/2014 #

Ha! :-D I would rate that a 5 + for sure! :-D

I love DaVinci. Last week I made a miniature flying machine, so much harder than it looks. 1500's Italy is my passion. I'm too new to join this swap but just had to chime in. ;-)

Lacrimosa 08/23/2014 #

You MADE a flying machine...? :-o

I'm new with not enough swaps so won't be taking part but I just had to say What an awesome swap this is! I hope you do something like this again :D enjoy!

Thanks for the compliment louball! I already received pm's from people asking if I can do this again in a few months, so I would be happy if you could join then!

Lacrimosa

I did and had a blast. - I used rice paper and bamboo skewers. I wish I had a picture of it before I gave it away. My son's high school art class was doing them so I asked him to teach me what he learned and changed up the tools they used to my own. Rice paper is so wonderful to work with. They were using tongue depressors and cutting them as needed. I wanted a more sleek design so I went for the bamboo skewers I make grilled veggies with.

then I pulled up a few pictures and use PVA paper glue. If I were to do this again I'd use straight pins to hold it in place instead of glue and holding for a long time until in place.

also I used an exacto knife to cut the wood and sandpaper to round out the edges. I really had fun and tried to think what he thought when he did these things. I decided he was watching nature when I came up with some of his designs.

most brilliant mind I've ever studied.

Wow, @Girlshawn that sounds really brilliant as well!
