Description:

This swap is to trade Unused postcards from around the world.

There are tons of interesting postcards that you can usually only get at tourist attractions, or by travelling etc. Sometimes we get tired of only having postcards from our own little corner of the world, but I don't fancy paying a fortune to buy them from Ebay, etc.

For this swap, you will have two (2) partners, and you will send each partner five (5) blank, Unused postcards (not handmade), in an envelope. If you'd like, visit your partner's profile to see what kinds of things they like, and if you have those in your collection, feel free to send something relating to their interests. However, the purpose of this swap is not to have to buy new postcards, so if you don't have anything they specifically like, just send something nice that you would ike to receive yourself. Please do not send postcards from a health initiative, government agency, etc. These should be nice, picturesque postcards, with a simple phrase telling what the picture is on the front, and plenty of room for us to write our own stuff on the back, not postcards reminding us to tell someone we know about getting tested for a disease, etc.

Newbies are welcome, with a completed profile. Other users, please have a rating of at least 4.0, with no more than 1 no send. If you do have multiples, and feel that you have a legit reason, you can contact me before signing up.

Just to confirm, you WILL NOT write on these postcards, although if you want to include a note or letter to your partner, that's fine. Your partner should be able to use these postcards themselves after the swap, and they SHOULD NOT be handmade. (Nothing against handmade postcards--this just isn't the swap for them)

I have a whole box of old postcards i really don't have a use for... somebody might like some just for collecting, or for actually using them or even for collage. It'd be nice to get some fun postcards from other people. susi

It's already the 6th... how come I don't see my partners yet?!?!

LINBUR0100 02/ 6/2007 #

For those of you who do not know, partners must be manually assigned by the coordinator now. This is for the protection of all participants so that no flakers can sign up at the last minute and get assigned a partner. I always review my list of participants to ensure that everyone is legit, which is why I do not just arbitrarily hit the "assign" button when it first becomes available.

Thank you for your patience.

Amore, your postcards arrived today. Thank you, it was lovely to see postcards from a completely different part of the world. My 4 year old son was completely taken with them and we had great fun finding where you lived on the map. If only his grasp of distance was better, his comment was "that's not very far" !! (for the rest of you the distance was - from Qatar to Ireland!!)
