Description:

Let's keep this series going :)

This time theme in an envie is... OCTOBER

Choose:

  • Funny/weird holiday day.

  • Fall/autumn [red, brown, gold, leaves, weather...]

  • What October means to you.

What does october mean to you? Write your partner a note & let them know. Maybe include something about october, and what it means to you, if there is anything specific. Are there any national holiday dates in your country for october? Is it fall where you live in October? You may use Fall/Autumn as a theme. Represent these through paper or gifts to show your partner. For extra fun, these are some silly & fun holiday dates in october.

Adopt a Shelter Dog Month (dog stationery?)
American Pharmacist Month (something medical)
Apple Jack Month
Awareness Month (write your partner a letter?)
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (anything Pink)
Clergy Appreciation Month
Computer Learning Month
Cookie Month (cookies, cupcakes, etc)
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Eat Country Ham Month
International Drum Month
Lupus Awareness Month (do you know anyone with lupus?)
National Diabetes Month
National Pizza Month (what's your favourite pizza?)
National Vegetarian Month (fruit/veg themes)
National Popcorn Popping Month
Sarcastic Month
Seafood Month (sealife/aquarium paper themes)

Stuck of any of these? Take a look at this calendar: http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/october.htm and choose any from the list of october dates. (There's some fun ones, like mad hatter day, it's my party day...) You can also research online. October 1st is National day in China so you could send inspiration from Chinese themes. On October 2nd in the USA, it is columbus day. It is also sweetest Day in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin in the USA on the third Saturday in October which is "Involves giving small presents to family, friends and lovers" - how cute!!

Taking a minimum of 3 themes of the above, include things relating to those in your envelope for your partner. Interpretate however you like and get creative!!!

You can choose any of the "national holidays" or include your own special october meaning as 1. For example, if it's your birthday you could choose 1 birthday, 1 seafood month, & 1 popcorn month as your themes. If october has a special memory or meaning to you, that counts as 1. BTW, it is Halloween on October 31st. You could include this as 1 if you wish. You can choose to include as many as you like.

You've got a lot of time for this swap to prepare, get things, etc. You are not required to purchase things for this swap but you are welcome to do so. You can send store bought, hand made, or things taken from your stash; or a mix. It can be senders choice or profile based. It is up to you.

Sticking to theme send your partner an envelope full of items of your choice. Please try and choose a variety of things, not all the same. The minimum is 10 pieces including a minimum of THREE themes of October. Please send only attractive things, papers/ephemera/craft items must be nice, not rubbish. Items you send could be used for mail art, paper projects, smash journalling/junking, ATC's, collections, etc so must be nice. You are also welcome to get creative and come up with cool ideas to send any other items that are not paper related/store bought if it fits theme.

One piece counts as ONE, so you can't send for example 10 stickers and call it done, that's wrong. 10 postcards count as 1 item, 15 stickers count as 1 item, 2 stickers count as 1 item, etc.

Although should be cheap and flat to post, as it is not a huge swap, please don't send the minimum possible; try & make your partner happy, and send a nice, decent sized swap for the requirements. Please try and FILL your envie.

Any questions, or ideas of things that can be sent that I may have missed out, just comment below :) feel free to leave any suggestions for future themes below also.

Happy swapping!
