i love butterflies and cant wait to start this.

Hi krazy: What are you thinking of making? I left this so open-ended that I am having trouble narrowing it down myself! Doh...lol

im a butterfly freak too :) n i wud luv luv luv to join this swap^_^ but does it have to be $5US? coz i live in malaysia and that is quite costly..coz woth the US currency i have to time 3.5 or 3.6 i think.can i just make somethin simple n flat with butterflies on it?

Hi nurulnurul: As long as you make one little handmade item with a butterfly theme, valued at NO MORE than $5US in total, you can certainly join. Please note that the MAXIMUM value is $5US, and I was thinking that this is what something might be worth if it were sold handmade in a store. The actual cost to make something could be a lot less than that. If you want to make something like an ATC or a postcard or a brooch or a greeting card or a bookmark, that would be just fine. As long as it is handmade. Hope you join us! Tassy

Sarah Elizabeth: As a new swapper, please be careful - this is a swap for BUTTERFLIES. You don't want to send moths and then get rated a 3 because they weren't butterflies! If you want to do moths per se, I would suggest you check with your partners first to make sure they are ok with moths - unless, of course, your moths look a lot like butterflies anyway! lol Tassy

when do we recieve our swap partners?

For whomever has me, I just wanted to say that I am open to receiving a Butterfly ATC if you do ATCs. I have never done an ATC, but am interested in trying it, but would love to see someone else\'s first. So if you do ATCs, I\'d be happy to receive one. And if you do something else, I\'m happy to receive whatever you enjoy doing!

As for me, I enjoy yarn and thread...so my partners might be receiving something along those lines. And some extra goodies perhaps as I was at the store the other day and bought some butterfly items...I forgot that this was a \"handmade item\" swap! ha ha! A few extra goodies are not going to be refused, I\'m sure. :)

I will have to learn how to do ATC, as I have never made one. I have saw the books on them, and there are so many swaps here that do them.

inamerica: They are a lot of fun and take not too long because of the size. Once you do a couple, you will be hooked!

I received some beautiful butterfly things but have NO Idea who it is from! I looked at all the names, but none of them match anything that was on the package!!! And nothing inside with anything written on it. HELP!!! The package got wet so the return address is all blurry, but it says SOMETHING like "Sellesburg, IN or IL", and all I can see is the address number of "505" - but have no idea what the street name is or what state it's from, for sure, so PLEASE, if that's you, please let me know - it's such a pretty hand made butterfly bag, I really want to thank SOMEONE!!

Thank you, Jackie, for the wonderful package I received yesterday of Butterflies! There was the homemade tag you made, some stickers, the vellum butterflies and leaves, and two butterfly charms! It was such a wonderful thing to receive in the mail as we were having a Spring-like day with temps at 68 degrees F...perfect for butterflies! Thank you, Jackie!

O.k....all done stitching and sewing...soooo...I\'ll be mailing tomorrow so my \"sent\" status won\'t be a lie anymore ;o) Do you think it\'s o.k. if I post pictures before my partners get their swaps? I\'m so happy with what I made I want to show them off :o)

I am in this group, and would just like to make a request - I've gotten four swaps recently, including one from this group, with absolutely NO way of knowing who (from here) sent them - since many of us use "nicknames" here, PLEASE include some reference to that in the swap - otherwise, we have no way of rating the swap, or even knowing who it came from - I've become so frustrated trying to find out WHO sent to me, even after reading every single profile, and finally recruited the help of the coordinator to help - it's frustrating and very time consuming, trying to piece it together from everyone's profile! I'm almost ready to give up! So please - pretty please - include your SWAP name somewhere in the swap!

I made some business cards with my information on them. I try to write on the back what swap it is for. I've found this is very helpful to the people who are in more than one swap. I also write on the outside of the package which swap it's for.

Oh, you've been so fast! Already received your butterflies! And I haven't sent mine yet... was very busy last week and finally have time today to catch up things. So I ask my partners (let me keep you in secret) to be patient - I will send your butterflies out on time, I promise :)

I sent email to my two swap partners already, but I feel like a complete idiot! I rushed around all morning getting out 2 swaps that I thought were due today, only to come online to click that I sent my items and find that the 2 I rushed to send out aren't due until the 12th, and the butterflies are free which I'm almost ready to send out but thought I had until the 12th are due TODAY!!!!

Ugh!!!!

So I'm trying to get them done and in the mail either tonight from an automated mail thingie two towns over late tonight IF I feel up to it, or tomorrow at the latest. My apologies again to my 2 very patient swap partners--Courtney and maebeajane!!

If you are sending to JENNA PERRY as your partner, you might want to hold on to it as she most likely won't be returning the favor to her partner. Her profile has been deleted and there are several swaps I'm in which she is also in and she has not sent for those either.

Whoever has JENNA PERRY might want to hold onto their package to her to perhaps send to Jenna's partner who won't be receiving from her.

The pillow is now my new dream pillow, and the cards have been looked at and admired and now are tied back up in the ribbon and put away in my keepsake box, waiting for a very special occasion when I might dare to use them. purplemorgan, THANK YOU SO MUCH, for being an Angel and sending to me in place of JennaPerry, who was originally assigned my name. The butterflies arrived today and you surely know that I LOVE THEM! I have seen that crocheted butterfly bookmark pattern but never tried it. I'm so glad to see it in person. And the variegated pastel colored butterfly that is 7" or 8" across and about 5" high is gorgeous! I LOVE IT! My 5 year old daughter asked me what it was, and I replied that it's just a butterfly mat...you could use it under your glass or mug, or use it as a table decoration or doily... So she says "Next time I have food on the table, can we lay it in the middle of the table?" (She sometimes "plays" dinnertime/teatime, so I think this is what she was referring to. She wanted to use it during playtime for decorating her table.) Of course I told her "Yes!" :)

You probably checked my profile to see that I love to crochet so you had to know you'd make a hit with me by creating these lovelies. I wish I could rate you because I'd give you a heart! Doesn't look like you're lacking for any, though. :)
