How many times have I sat down to write out a card to a swap friend and wrote LOL! or HTH! or TT4N? It feels odd to write it out and I try to resist! I'm ready to give in. I can no longer resist! The use of acronyms & abbreviations on the net have become commonplace. To help you figure it all out here's a list of some common ones used. See the link to find new ones to write your post card out with. The WWW Acronym and Abbreviation Server Acronym & Abbrev. Dictionary AP - attachment parenting BBL - be back later BRB - be right back BF - breastfeed or breastfed BTDT - been there, done that BTW - by the way dh/dw/dd/ds/dp - a reference to members of one's immediately family: 'dear/darling/damn' husband, dwife, ddaughter, dson, dpartner FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions FWIW - for what it's worth FYI - for your information IMO - in my opinion IMHO - in my humble opinion IMNSHO - in my not-so-humble opinion IYKWIM - if you know what I mean J/K - just kidding KWIM? - know what I mean? LOL - laughing out loud LMAO - laughing my arse off MAK - munching/masterbating @ keyboard MIL/FIL/SIL/BIL - mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, bro... OIC - Oh, I see NAK - nursing @ keyboard OMG - oh my god/dess, oh my gourd, oh my goodness/gracious OTOH - on the other hand ROTFLMAO - rolling on the floor laughing my ass off SAHM/SAHD - stay-at-home [mom/dad] SNAFU - situation normal-all fvcked up SSDD - same shit different day TT4N - ta ta for now WAHM/WAHD - work-at-home [mom/dad] WTH - What the hell? WWW - World Wide Web WWYD - what would you do? WYSIWYG - What you see is what you get This is just a small sample of the abbreviations known/used in the A & A dictionary! We will write out one message on 3 postcards for 3 partners, one postcard each. (Unless you want to do 3 different messages). Use as many A & A from the dictionary to make as cryptic of message as you can and still make some sense! Participation open to those who have 3 rated swaps or more with no, no-sends. Come play!
