Description:

This is my second recipe swap, and I\'m planning to make it a monthly thing (if you have suggestions for future themes, please message me).

We all like to make special desserts, but sometimes we just don\'t have time to prepare a fancy layer cake with gorgeous icing, etc.

For this swap, you will have 3 partners, and you will send each partner 2 different recipes for an easy dessert that seems more complicated than it is. That\'s a total of 6 recipes you will need to send out.

This one is a bit subjective as there is no way we can all have the same creteria for \"easy but impressive\" but some examples would be \"cake mix\" recipes that seem more complicated than they are, etc.

The recipes can be computer printed or hand written, but please make sure they are legible. Feel free to include a letter telling about the recipe, or even about yourself, although it\'s not required.

Those with more than one no send or a rating below 4 will be dropped from the swap. If you have more than one no send with extenuating circumstances and would like to join please contact me before signing up for possible exceptions.

Newbies, feel free to join in, but make sure your profile is completed.

This is an international swap.

Oh wow. I just saw that we already have 8 people signed up for this. I'm so happy that there are enough people interested. Welcome all!

monkijan 01/24/2007 #

I'm a newbie, so I don't feel -too- bad asking a dumb question ... are we expected to send 6 different recipes, or would 2 different recipes x 3 suffice? Thanks for clarifying!

LINBUR0100 01/26/2007 #

Sure Monkijan. You can use the same 2 recipes for all three pepole.

LINBUR0100 01/29/2007 #

I had an excellent suggestion for a future swap--"our most requested recipes". I am planning to start this for March. Just wanted to let you all know so you could stay on the lookout for it. Hope to see you all there!

LINBUR0100 01/29/2007 #

I meant to say....I RECEIVED a suggestion from another member...not that I had the idea. Thanks EmilyBemily, for the great suggestion.

Ok, so my take on "impressive" doesn't mean the dessert has to look fantastic, but that it has to taste really good. Does that count? I certainly am not one to make something that looks "impressive", but I can make something easy that looks appealing to try, then people think it's impressive. :)

LINBUR0100 02/ 1/2007 #

Actually, JWJW2, another user has said the same thing, so for me, I think if it tastes absolutely amazing, but is really easy, that meets the requirements.

If you're not already signed up for our March swap, please feel free to come on over!

DaCraftyLady 02/ 3/2007 #

Ohhh this sounds like fun...I am new and just finished my 1st swap and love it... I alreadyt have my recipes picked out... :)

StuffbySteph 02/ 4/2007 #

Well, after much debate (with myself lol) I am joining in this fun...I LOVE to cook and experiment in the kitchen, but recently was diagnosed with diabetes...kinda takes the fun out of it hehe...BUT i have lots to share in this catagory so I'm joiin' in! Plus the ones sent to me will help me put togther the recipe books I'm making for family this Christmas :-)

LINBUR0100 02/ 6/2007 #

Wow, StuffbySteph. What a good idea to make cookboos for your family. I'm actually trying to use the Better Homes and Gardens "My cookbook" feature to put one together for my mom from all her recipes she's collected over the years. It's much more difficult than it sounds, since her recipes are very old fashioned and don't follow the standard style of recipes we're accustomed to today.

Feel free to join our March swap as well (Our most requeted recipes). Maybe you will get recipes that are more friendly to your diabetes from that one.

DaCraftyLady 02/12/2007 #

Hello group...I made a family cookbook in 2003 for my family and went one step further and put pictures of everyone with their recipe. It was a great big surprise for all as some family members hadn't seen each other in over 20yrs. We all live all over the USA so it brought most of us closer together. Cookbooks are fun to do....I am looking forward to this swap and signing up for the other in March too....

StuffbySteph 02/14/2007 #

Wow, thanks for the encouragement, ladies ;) Its nice to have feedback that this is not a bad idea for the holidays this year...I appreciate that. I have my recipes all ready to mail out, just need the addresses which should be Friday? If I have it correct...

LINBUR0100 02/14/2007 #

Just so you all know, I try to click on the "assign partners" button on my swaps as soon as possible. However, I always review the participants to make sure no flakers sign up at the list minute, so I might not click it the moment it becomes available...thanks for your patience.

EmilyBemily 02/17/2007 #

lilylemon 03/ 1/2007 #

maozed and Tammegail -- did you get them yet? I sent them on the 20th. Please let me know so I can resend if needed. Letting a partner know a swap hasn't arrived lets her know to resend, thus avoiding a no-send rating if there's a problem.

monkijan 03/ 1/2007 #
