Description:

I have recently been introduced to pocket letters & I am officially hooked…so I thought what would be better than to bring them to our group of awesome swappers.

Pocket Letters are fun to use with your pen pals but they are also great fun for a one time swap.

A pocket letter is where you decorate all the pockets of a trading card page protector and send the whole page folded in thirds and fit it in a regular #10 envelope. This will take some additional postage so weigh your envelope carefully.

Since many of us may be more than ready for winter to be over. In this swap you will make a pocket letter with a Spring Theme. So it can be anything that reminds you of spring.

You can fill the pockets with anything you like - stickers, washi samples, photos, ATC's, tea bags, buttons, post its, pretty paper, quotes, die cuts, basically anything you can fit in one of the pockets.

You can find loads of inspiration on Instagram and Pinterest. The swap photo is from here: http://themintgreenpolkadot.com/2015/02/pocket-letter-love/ Check out her blog & video!

The idea is that you will create fun letter filled with fun little surprises. This swap is sender's choice, but reading a partner’s profile will make it all the more fun to create something you know they will love and that you would be thrilled to receive. Please remember to include your user ID and the swap name with the letter for your partner in one of the pockets.

Also, take a little time to decorate the envelope so it screams “spring is here!” in their mailbox. Participants must have a 4.9 cumulative with no unresolved 1’s and no recent (last 6 months) 3's.

I will check profiles before I assign partners. I will angel if needed, but with this group I am sure that will not be necessary. Feel free to ask any questions below.

This one is US only...but feel free to host an International version.

Have Fun!!

Can you recommend a good place to buy the protectors?

flowerchild 03/17/2015 #

YES - YES - YES - YES!!!! Happy Dance - I too am in LOVE with these silly little things :)

You can find the page protectors at Walmart, mostly up front in a register lane - ask they do a good job of hiding them, or some have found them in stationery/office supplies. Target, Office Max/Depot, Staples, and some have had luck at the $$$ Stores. But the cheaper ones - I received one that was HIGH quality and the page itself was heavy!

I ordered mine online from amazon and they seem to be decent quality. I am sure what @flowerchild said are all good choices as well.

shreve 03/17/2015 #

@flowerchild I am thinking of hosting different themes every month if people are interested.

@flowerchild I am I am!!

Any chance of an international one of these soon? :)

shreve 03/18/2015 #

@DreamingAries I will do one now if you are interested. I understand that the nine pocket page protectors are not as easy to ins internationally so I may have to modify the requirements. Let me look at other swaps to figure out the wording.

I would absolutely love that!!!

It is quite hard to find them indeed, I am lucky enough someone from here was kind enough to send me some emlty ones! ;)

Ok I will do it...things are a little crazy this week but keep your eye out for it soon.

I want to get some of those protectors first, so I have to skip this time, but I'm looking forward to future swaps.

shreve 03/20/2015 #

@swan I just posted an international one too if you get some before the 27th:)

Swan 03/20/2015 #

Yes, thanks, I'm watching it. We'll see.

I am interested in future swaps, especially US regional ones, but would like more lead time if at all possible. Thanks.
