Description:

We were all newbies once, and I remember how hard it was to find a newbie friendly type 3 swap to start building up my profile, so this easy, low-cost swap is to help out all those newbies that need to start somewhere. :-)

For this swap you will make 1 handmade card and send it to your partner. You must also include an envelope with your handmade card that your partner can use to mail out the handmade card. The envelope does not have to be handmade (although it would be an extra surprise if you also make a matching envelope and/or decorate the envelope to match your card), but it should be big enough to mail the card out in. The card is sender's choice, but please check out your partner's profile and don't send them something from their dislike list. The card should not be written in so that your partner can use it sometime in the future. The minimum size for the card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

So, one handmade card WITH an envelope, is the minimum that should be mailed out as your swap. Your handmade card and blank envelope should be placed inside another envelope and mailed out to your partner. There was some confusion in our last swap and people didn't understand that they needed to mail a blank envelope with their card, so hopefully that clears up the confusion. :-)

The card needs to be of good quality, made from good quality cardstock, with time and attention put into the card. You can use rubber stamped images, die cuts, Cricut die cuts, punches, ribbon, brads, buttons, embossing, or any other embellishments or crafty techniques to decorate your cards. Just please make them of the same quality that you would like to receive. The point of a handmade card is for it to be something unique that you cannot buy in a store.

I want to be very clear- the card SHOULD NOT be just a printed piece of copy paper folded in half, a folded piece of paper with a sentiment written on it, a folded piece of cardstock with stickers stuck on it, a few cardboard figures scotch-taped onto the front of the card, or portions of a store-bought card cut out and stuck onto a piece of card stock. This is not the swap for you if you have never made a handmade card before, or do not have the time or experience to create a good quality card.

I will angel this swap, if necessary, once you have rated your partner a 1 and notified me of the flake.

Requirements:

Ò€’ Newbies allowed with a WELL FILLED OUT profile. I will check all profiles before assigning partners and reserve the right to ban at my discretion.

Ò€’ All other swappers must have a minimum 4.95 rating

Ò€’ No 1s or 3s in the last 6 months without a reasonable explanation.

Please make sure to send your swaps out on time and rate as soon as you receive your items. Don't forget to put your swapbot user ID and the name of the swap somewhere in your package so that your partner can rate you easily.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or leave a comment below and I will answer as soon as I can! Thanks

@JaneInSD
Can these be high quality cards recreated? I make these flower cards using store bought cards/envelopes: (https://www.pinterest.com/dalbright/paper-creations-by-dfalbright/) Wondering if this is acceptable for the swap? I sent one to someone in a similar swap before and I got a LOT of backlash because they didn't think I put enough effort into them.(They actually take a lot of effort to buy all the pieces to coordinate as well as $). Wanted to make sure this is "enough" and "acceptable" for this swap? Thanks ma'am! Debbie

Debbie- While your recreated cards are pretty, for this swap the entire card needs to be handmade, so your recreated cards wouldn't qualify. Sorry.

Hi I have joined for the first time this exchange. It is very exciting to participate !!!! But I do not know what to do, ie, I understand that you have to make a card to hand to hand to another of the participants would like more information. I hope your answer !!!

@Roxanabel - After the sign up date, I will assign partners. The computer assigns partners, I do not have any control over it. After the partners have been assigned, look in the upper right hand corner of the swap. There is a box and inside there will be a sentence that says "see the partners you send to". Click on that and it will give you the name and address of your swap partner. Check out your partner's profile to see what they like and don't like, make your card and make sure to mail out the swap by the deadline. It's important that you put the name of the swap and your swap-bot id in your swap so that your partner can easily rate it. Hope this helps. Happy Swapping!

I contacted my send to partner to advise I will be happy to re-send this swap if she does not receive it within 30 days of mailing (May 12). Mail time from Canada to Florida is so unpredictable.
