Description:

Tired of seeing swaps for Pocket Letters that are pink or for holidays? Want something that's really "you" in your Pocket Letter binder? This is the swap for you!

Each swapper will list a minimum of 5 fandoms in the comments, and then your partner will make you a profile-based Pocket Letter themed to one of those fandoms. Please list a variety; if they are all specific Hello Kitty characters, for example, your partner might be at a loss for what to do.

These Pocket Letters should include:

  • Decorated front
  • Lightly decorated back (not just white paper)
  • A letter talking about the fandoms your partner likes/if you like the same/what you discovered about the fandom while making the PL/etc.
  • At least 3 little goodies tucked into the pockets. Goodies don't have to be fandom-themed, but should be profile-based. Common goodies include: fun paperclips, washi tape samples, stickers, smashbook items, tea packets, etc.

When folded, PLs fit into regular business sized envies, but are often too bulky/fragile for simple mailing; check your postage requirements! The link above and the internet in general has lots of inspiration for PLs.

I will manually screen participants but know that your profile must be filled out well and any or all low ratings must be adequately explained.

  • Containing 1 letter and 3+ goodies

Don't forget to list your fandoms below!! And feel free to make an international version (perhaps after this swap concludes).

I think just one fandom for the whole pocket letter, UNLESS your partner specifies that combining them is okay. How does that sound everyone?

Also, if you want to update your list, you can copy the whole thing and then add/change, and I will delete the old ones before assigning partners so that it's easier to find the "right" list. I think I'm going to have to change mine since I forgot GoT and other things. ;)

  2. Firefly tv show (Love Mal, Simon, and River)

  3. Marvel heroes (X-Men, Avengers, etc., Nightcrawler and Shadowcat are favs, as well as Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, and just a whole medley of them really)

  4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv show (SPIKE!!!)

I need to clarify a bit about pocket letters, or what I think are pocket letters anyway.

To me, all the pockets should be decorated, even after "pick-pocketing" out the goodies. Some swaps just take a 9-pocket page and put goodies in it and when you take them out, it's totally empty.

That is not the idea with this swap. We should each end up with a well-decorated page that we can look at later (and drool over for those of us who receive Daryl or Oliver Queen pages, haha).
