Description:

The point of this swap is to have a good time creating something. The item you get in return is just the cherry on top. If you will be disappointed in receiving something that's not perfect do not join this swap. If you are picky do not join this swap. By joining this swap you acknowledge that this just may be the worst swap you have ever received, and you're ok with that, because life is short.

This is 100% sender's choice. Don't even look at your partners page if you don't want to and start as soon as you sign up if you'd like! Don't over think this swap guys, it's meant to be fun for everyone and a stress free swap!

Step 1: So, for this swap grab a 9 pocket card page. Ultra Pro is my favorite brand but feel free to use any brand. Please buy one and do not make the actual page. See picture for reference.

Step 2: Put at least one thing in each pocket. Some examples, a big sticker, a few small stickers (or one!), a smashed penny, memo sheet(s), ATC, a doodle, a fortune fish, a tea packet, a trading card, a photo of your lizard, whatever. You must include at least one item per pocket. That item is completely up to you. A letter is NOT required. Do include your user name and swapname though so you can be rated. If you want to decorate, decorate. If you don't, don't. If you want to have a theme, go for it. If not, don't. This swap is all about what you, the sender, want to do.

Step 3: Package it up and mail it!

If you receive a sent on time 9 pocket page, with at least one item in each pocket you will rate a 5, no matter how awful it is.

Please have 5 rated type 3 swaps under your belt by the time I assign partners.

As always with @PookiePie1307 swaps:

*Don't join if you're lame. This swap is laid back and open to interpretation. If you're picky or whatever stop joining sender's choice swaps!

*No minimum rating but I will be reviewing each and every profile and banning as I see fit. I generally ban the last day of sign up. If you have an issue with someone PM me DO NOT COMMENT THE ISSUE.

*Flaking is theft.

*Feel free to create an international or other region version of this swap.

*No APO addresses. Sorry

I'm suing you for copyright infringement. Sending photos of lizards and fortune fish were my ideas first. I will see you in court.

Hehehehehehe.

OMG that's hilarious!

Zoebolt 05/20/2015 #

just curious, why no APO? I have never seen that as a requirement before...

PookiePie1307 05/20/2015 #

@zoebolt a variety of reasons. Customs forms, increased mail time, etc

AZmom875 05/20/2015 #

They make you stand in line at the PO sometimes for APOs and some APOS dont allow some items like romance novels, etc. Ok not that you would fit a romance novel in a small pocket, but they dont allow those covers of those romance novels in their country even though it is going to an APO. That has just been my experience.

Pocket Letter needs to have short 'about me' letter in one of the pockets. That is what makes them pocket letters. It would be a shame to take away from someone has invented as an artform, like ATC cards are an art form and always measure 2.5 by 3.5 inches.

PookiePie1307 05/20/2015 #

@AZmom875 yes, that's another reason, and you can't send tea to some places! So, it's just easier for folks who join USA only swaps to not have to send to a APO.

@Lizard this is a pseudo pocket letter, not a Pocket Letter. I take it you haven't seen my "not exactly an ATC" series either.

oblivionspin 05/20/2015 #

I think it's nice to see a pocket letter sans letter swap available. :D Increasingly I find it tedious to write one off letters to people I probably won't end up pen paling with, but I really love the idea of putting together some interesting junk in a trading card sleeve. Good thing there are lots of pocket letter swaps- and groups! available right now to suit everyone's style. (:

Goodmorningfelicity 05/20/2015 #

I agree with @oblivionspin I love writing letters but I do find it awkward to write to someone in a one time swap. I love this free for all style pocket letter idea! But since oblivionspin found the picture of attorney lizard then I must agree that she should follow through with said lawsuit.

PookiePie1307 05/20/2015 #

Ill have to pay in flies. Or whatever lizards eat.

You're all just jealous that I have a soon to be framed picture of Gerald on my desk

AZmom875 05/21/2015 #

Since this is the comment section, can I just say. I find the REAL pocket letters confusing. I mean if I take out the goodies and gifts, I have empty pockets. And some of this stuff is meant to be removed trust me. I dont think the trend will stick with me, which is why I joined the Psuedo swap.

AZmom875 05/21/2015 #

BTW I bought 100 heavy duty baseball collector sleeves for $20, If you have a store like that near you check out their prices and quality.

oblivionspin 05/21/2015 #

Target also has good deals on the pages. They keep them by their trading cards.
I also agree about pocket letters not being super collectable. I got a lovely one from a pen pal a while back but as soon as I took the stickers out it just looked kinda sad. I know some people go all out to make them look good empty, but at that level of effort I'd rather join a few ATC swaps.

Lizard 05/21/2015 #

@AZmom875 Yes, I wish people would put the goodies in the backs of the pockets. I certainly empty and use my goodies and yes, I have a couple of very sorry-looking pocket letters as a result. I'm hosting a couple and I have stated that the fronts be decorated and goodies be put in behind that.

@PookiePie 1307 Ahah, I see now, Pseudo... lol Good idea! Oh and @oblivianspin Don't tell anyone, but I have a stat 'about me' saved on my computer for one-of swaps that require a bit about me.

Shhhh, that's a secret!

I can't join this swap, as I'm in Australia, but I, too, love that legal lizard! They eat live crickets, mealworms, fruits and vegies. So get ready to pay your fines... hahaha

CalyD 05/24/2015 #

This is an awesome swap! I don't actually collect my pocket letters, I just love to see what people send, take out the things I might want to use and then pass on the goodies I don't want in my next pocket letter swap. I even reuse the sleeves on occasion so my costs are minimum. 8-) I don't mind writing a letter if the swap calls for it, though I don't expect a response, I do think its fun to learn a little bit about the people I swap with but I'm definitely fine either way. I love the variety you find on Swap Bot. "Keep Calm and Swap On" I say. 8-)

slamophile 05/26/2015 #

Aaaaaakkkkkkk! How'd I miss this?! - Pseudo - wow - Right up my alley - since I've never tried to do this before - Gadz Pooks - You gottagotta run this swap again, sometime down the line (crossin' fingers - I hope I hope)

Fabriqueen 05/26/2015 #

Sorry, Kinda dumb here. What's an APO?

PookiePie1307 05/26/2015 #

@slamophile ill keep running one as long as people keep joining

@fabriqueen it's a U.S. military base oversees. Technically US territory but you still have to fill out customs and the like
