Description:

Not sure what sparked this idea...maybe it was the “stocked shelves” of Christmas at Hobby Lobby last weekend! But why not, isn’t it time to start those Holiday craft projects? Even if you don’t finish those until Christmas Eve this might get the creative juices flowing and at least get out all those goodies you bought last year after Christmas!

Every element of this pocket letter is to be Christmas themed. Maybe try a different method for the overall design;

For the front of the pocket page cut one 8 1/2" x 11 sheet of pattern or large design into 9 pieces to fill the pockets like this

Put all the goodies and letter into a little decorated envelopes or bags/one per pocket like these or this

Use all handmade goodies, make the letter/goodies very profile specific, be creative, step outside the box!

BUT! your pocket letter must include one of these design elements:

a. banner

b. layered pocket decoration

c. hanging element

d. washi tape decoration

e. decorative handmade paperclip

f. sticker decoration-not a sticker slap :)

g. creative gift wrap

There must be a letter in one of the pockets. Not a one paragraph note but a nice letter. If you write a 6 page essay that is your choice and I applaud you! One nicely written/typed page is all that is required. Each pocket should be decorated to fit the theme and have some sort of goodie in it. The idea after all is to be able to display these in a binder after the goodies are removed…pretty fronts please! Decorated backs or additional paper backing is designer’s choice.

These must be made in the 9 pocket 8 1/2" x 11" pages.

This is not profile specific but I always peek at profiles, it is up to you...I think it makes the Pocket Letter a bit more personal.

Also I have received several beautiful Pocket Letters over the last few months. But I feel bad when I get a Pocket Package! Try to keep these light and flat(ish) so that we don't kill the year's swap postage budget early. The idea for this swap is to send a letter, some creative fun and a few goodies not a Christmas gift!!! Ok you know what I mean :)

I feel safe swapping in this group, however should the unthinkable occur I will angel after all courses of action are exhausted and a one (1) rating is given. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to message me.

If anyone wants to do this as an international swap you have my blessing :)

Sorry for the odd wording...I cut and pasted the wrong paragraph, hope this makes more sense!

Are the little envelopes supposed to go behind the 8 1/2 x 11 paper so that you can see the design from the front, or are we putting them on top and covering up the picture?

Is the one-sheet-background just a suggestion? It says "maybe try", so it sounds like a suggestion....
