Description:

I love photographing wildlife and I know I'm not the only one! This swap will be 2 ATC's snail-mailed to 2 partners.

For this swap, you will take close-up photos of faces of wildlife and turn them into ATC's. I put some examples here: http://flickr.com/photos/animalchatter/

Whether it is a zebra in the zoo or a bird in your backyard, any animal considered wild will qualify as long as the photo was taken by you and it is a close-up of their face.

• Any type of camera is permitted.

• Photos in color or black and white are permitted.

• These are to be flat photographs only, no embellishments, however digital editing is permitted.

• Photos may be printed professionally or on your printer. (Only quality photo prints/paper please.)

• You are required to follow the ATC format of 2.5 x 3.5 inches or 64 x 89 mm. Learn more about ATC etiquette at: http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html.

• This is an International swap.

• You must have at least a 4.9 rating with no no-sends in the last 3 months.

• Newbies are welcome with completed profiles AND recent log-ins to swap-bot.

• I will drop swappers who do not meet the criteria or have questionable profiles prior to partners being assigned.

I know we all have good intentions when signing up for swaps, but I also understand that things happen sometimes out of our control. I do expect everyone to follow through with their commitment, but I will happily angel this swap on the chance that you don't receive something from your partner...just let me know!

Are we allowed to embellish these ATCs?

animalchatter 08/21/2008 #

Excellent question Guitartists! Sorry that I didn't think to address it. I will make the changes above. :)

These are to be flat photographs only, no embellishments, however digital alterations are permitted.

Do insects count?

animalchatter 08/30/2008 #

sunflowerkat...After careful consideration, yes, insects count. I feel they should certainly be allowed in this swap and if you have a good enough lens to capture the face of an insect, then absolutely go for it!

I love to photograph insects, however I don't have a macro lens...yet! :)

So the ATCs will be a straight animal face on one side, nothing else? Should the paper be photo quality?

animalchatter 09/ 2/2008 #

Caranam...Yes, photo quality paper, wildlife face closeup on one side, signature, numbering, screen name, etc. on the back. No embellishments, however digital enhancements/editing is permitted.

Please visit http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html if you are uncertain about ATC requirements.

Thanks everyone for your questions! :)

Can it be side profile or no?

animalchatter 09/14/2008 #

luvscrappin...I think as long as the side profile is still a closeup of the face and that it is the main focus of the ATC it would be okay.

I know that wildlife can be difficult to photograph and sometimes a profile is all we can get! :)

Thanks. I think I have a head-on shot but I know I have some great side profile shots.
