At 7 a.m. Oct. 1, Tim Holtz posted this message with his October Tag:: “i love halloween time for all sorts of reasons: the changing of the weather, the frightful decorations, the nostalgic memories of my childhood, and of course the candy. this month i wanted to share a tutorial showing you just how easy it is to create one of my favorite new dimensional halloween dies from sizzix – the zombie! these dies are so cool and have endless possibilities from cards to party decor, but before we get to the tutorial, check out this video i did with scrapbook.com showing you how it’s done (don’t miss the other videos including this studio tour). i hope this tag conjures up your creative spirits from regions beyond…t!m†Clearly, this month's tag involves a zombie mask and other such details—perfectly made for any of our group who love this kind of Halloween fun. As you know from my PM sent to everyone in the group, this is not my kind of Halloween nor that of several of our group members who contacted me to say they would not participate. SO THESE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS "AUTUMN IN OCTOBER" VERSION OF THE OFFICIAL TIM'S TAG. For this swap you will create a tag that is focused on Autumn and its colors and changes as summer slips away into those crisp fall days. (I'm envious of you who do have those days; we're in the low 90s here in Houston with humidity about 75%!) Back to instructions: This does not mean that you cannot use a jolly, happy Jack'o Lantern or sweet little black cat on this tag. But please check with your partner to be certain that a "sweet" Halloween is OK because some members of the group may not want to receive ANYTHING related to Halloween. So use some good judgment here. Pull out those colorful leaves, baskets of apples, mums and acorns, etc. IMPORTANT: Do NOT use a harvest/Thanksgiving Theme for this tag because that will come in Tim's November tag. Your partner needs to see that this is an October autumn tag and NOT a happy harvest and Thanksgiving tag that is for November. You can find some sample tags on Pinterest by clicking [HERE]. I'm not using any more time fighting to make this work! Just go to Pinterest and do a search for Autumn Tags to find some great ideas to get your creativity must activated! REMEMBER to have FUN and let your imagination and creativity have a celebration of fall changes in trees, flowers, seeds, acorns, chilly mornings, etc. |
