David Bowie Lyric Inspiration ATCs Swap

Sadly, the great British musician David Bowie died on January 10 2016. Bowie was one of my favorites, since my early teens. In this swap, we will be making 2 ATCs honoring Bowie but with a twist. Where some swaps honoring people are content with simply including an image of that person, in this swap you will use one of the following lines from Bowie song lyrics as your inspiration for each . You do not need to include an image of David Bowie on the ATC, nor should you simply slap on the lyric line listed. Rather, take the lyric lines you choose and run with it. As stated, you will make 2 ATCs. You will have 2 partners, so 1 ATC to each partner. The lyric lines to choose from are:

1. It's a godawful small affair (from Life on Mars)
2. We're nothing and nothing can help us (Heroes)
3. We are the goon squad and we're coming to town (fashion)
4. The little green wheels are following Oh no not again (Ashes to Ashes)
5. Put on your red shoes and dance the blues (let's dance)
6. I think I saw you in an ice cream parlor (five years)
7. Ziggy played guitar (ziggy stardust)
8. Freak out in a moon age daydream (moonage daydream)
9. The girl with the mousy hair (Life on Mars)
10. I'm happy, hope you're happy too (ashes to ashes)
11. Your choice (write the lyric line of the song on the back of the ATC)

These ATCs should have some thought to them, (no random sticker slapping for example, or just sticking a Bowie photo on the ATC and adding the lyric line is not OK), and can be done in many different ways-using entirely found images, adding paint, stenciling, drawing, paper scrap collaging in all one color.. In other words, it's up to you.

You can add 3D embellishments if you like but keep your postage costs in mind, as you will have to pay more postage if your envelope is non-machineable by the postal service. Ideally you want to have your envelope weigh no more than 2 ounces.

When mailing to your partner please make sure your ATC is well protected in a sleeve. I suggest that you put it into a notecard

You do not have to do anything arty to the back of your piece, but do consider doing so. Please make sure you add your name, identifying information, and a note that says that this is the David Bowie lyric swap, identifying the line that inspired you.

When you receive your partner, please check his/her profile to make sure you're mindful of preferences, especially dislikes..

Please rate less than 5 only if the ATCs violate your dislikes or if they are a "sticker slapping" atcs with no effort made or if it is merely a regular atc card with 1-2 things stuck to it.

I will not angel this swap. There is a 10 day period during which to make your art.

A minimum 4.9 rating is required; newbies are allowed with complete profiles indicating interests and preferences. I will not allow any participants with recent 1's (since November).
