I'm wild about stamp carving right now and I can't get enough of searching Flickr for ideas. I thought that it would be a great idea to start a swap to showcase some of your favorite designs in the form of ATCs. Here's the idea, you'll send 2 partners 2 ATCs (4 cards total) that feature in some way a stamp you carved yourself. It can be carved on anything- an eraser, a carving block, a potato, whatever, as long as you carved it yourself by hand. Your stamps can be a major design element or used as a background accent, that's your call. If your stamp was carved from a non copyrighted image it would be nice to share the source so that if your partner loves it they can take a stab at making one for themselves. If you drew the design yourself, claim your workmanship. The main idea of this swap is to see what other people are doing with their stamps and exchange ideas. Here are a few links to get you started if you've never done it and would like to play: http://www.flickr.com/photos/inkysquid/239970439/ http://www.atlasquest.com/tutorials/carving/ http://themonkeybasket.blogspot.com/2006/05/hand-carved-stamps.html Ok, so here's the fine print. This is my first swap so I don't know how to put you all through a rigorous background check before I let yous sign up. You'll know if there's something fishy in your swapping history and if it's going to be obvious to me so go ahead and send me a PM in advance. I'm super laid back so unless you've flaked on every swap you've ever been in or something, I probably won't ban anyone. Newbies are welcome. Since it's just ATCs I'm going to make it international. |
