Description:

PLEASE NOTE: A GIFT IS NOW REQUIRED FOR THIS SWAP. PLEASE SEE DETAILS BELOW! This is a simple letter/list and gift swap to get to know the swapping community better. Your letter/set of lists should include the following facts about you. Feel free to write as little or as much as you want for each prompt!

Introduction (who you are, where you\\'re from, etc.)

  1. Why you joined Swap-Bot

  2. Your favorite swap

  3. Favorite craft

  4. Favorite Color

  5. Largest/Most interesting craft project

  6. Favorite book(s)

  7. Favorite singer/band(s)

  8. Favorite food

  9. Biggest hope for the world (Other than peace. Be creative!)

  10. Anything else you would like to let your partners know about you or things they might be in For example, if one of your partner\'s a knitter, you could tell them about your local yarn store which does mail order, or a great pattern site online.

NEW: According to the majority of people who responded to the survey emailed to everyone registered as of Feb. 21, you are now required to send each of your partners a small but unspecified gift. You can choose to send something as small as a candy bar, or unstamped postcard ready for use. Or you can make something (jewelry, knitted something) It would be nice if you tailor it to each person\'s profile, but that\'s not required. If you are concerned about postage (I know I am...) keep it very light:)

Some suggestions from the survey:

-\"chocolate, fancy paper, earrings, bookmark, etc. but specify that it is something light to keep it fair.\"

-\"what about adding a self-portrait or something, if we\'re all writing to get to know one another a little better?\"

value of small gift should be $3-$10.

This is International. I do require that your profile be filled out, and a rating over 4.5. However, if you have an explanation, please contact me, and we\'ll work something out. Newbies are welcome provided they have a filled out profile!

The idea is to get lots of mail with interesting things about lots of different people!

My 13 year old daughter would like to participate. If anyone has a problem, please let us know in time so she can drop out. She really loves swapping and has done several other swaps. I do have feedback on my profile for children's ATC's, from her participation. She is very thoughtful and creative.

This does sound like a great way to get to know other swappers AND get lots of mail, all at the same time. Seems like a fun idea- can't wait.

I think that it's fine if your 13-year-old wants to join. If she's responsible enough to turn in her homework on time isn't she responsible enough to mail a swap on time? Aren't we all grading each other anyways! I have no problem whatsoever with it. It's so cool that your daughter is interested in this kind of stuff!

I got a letter from Charlotte33 today -- Viki? (Is that what it says at the bottom of the letter? ;) I'm not sure I'm reading it right ... ;D) Anyway! Thanks muchly for some super-cool yarn (I've been eyeing that kind of yarn at the store for a while ;)), and LOL! A cigar! All the cigars I've smoked so far have been gifts, so yours is well received and well sent. ;D And thanks for an awesome letter, too. It's going on my internal list of Things to Do to write you back, though it might take a bit. We'll see! :D Thank you most kindly!

just out of curiosity, how many people would be interested in round 2? It seemed to be pretty successful. I would come up with all new questions, to learn even more about our community! Any suggestions for changes? I was thinking maybe this time the questions could be themed...

analog 04/ 7/2007 #

round 2 sounds like a great idea! i know i'd be up for it!
