Description:

I started to think of a swap like this last winter, when Finland received a lot of refugees from Middle East, and in all their frustration some of the refugees complained about the foods served at the reception centres. Who knew someone would want liver dishes for breakfast?! Not us. So, in this swap we describe foods we have for different meals in our daily lives in our countries. There could be big differences within Europe!

For this swap I set up a thread for us in the group forum, it will be found here. In your message, answer the following questions. Try to think of the people in your country/culture as a whole, not just you or your family personally.

  1. At what point is it typical to have breakfast? At home right after waking up or at a restaurant or at work, at a table or while walking...? What kinds of foods do you eat, hot or cold, simple or more complex, when do you prepare them? What beverages is it common to drink? Is there anything special about the morning meals in your country?

  2. At what time is it common to have lunch or other midday type meal? What kinds of foods do you have then? Do people bring packed lunches to schools and work places or go to cafeterias or lunch restaurants inside or outside their school or workplace, is there a chance of free or discount meals for school children or students or workers...?

  3. What and how do you have for afternoon snacks or meals? When and where?

  4. At what time do you have dinner or other type of larger meal? Or do you? What kinds of foods? At home of commonly at a restaurant?

  5. What do you eat in the evening? Is the last meal of a day a light snack or a bigger meal?

  6. Anything else you might want to add, that I didn't come to think of :)

To rate your partner find their message(s) on the forum and see if they have written on time and answered all the questions, more or less accurately.
