Description:

I don't know about you, but the only thing I love more than handmade greeting cards is making handmade greeting cards. I was going through a stack of magazines for some inspiration and came across one I purchased a couple of years ago, and it got me to thinking. (my hubby would now say "Uh-oh, that's never a good thing") Any-who, I thought that using it could make for some pretty interesting card swaps.

Rather than go in order, I've randomly selected the 5 challenges to choose from for this first swap. The challenges are as follows:

1., Make a greeting card using some duct tape in a creative way.

  1. Use leftover alpha and number stickers in a creative way.

  2. Make your own rainbow in a creative way.

  3. Make your own patterned paper.

  4. Make an embellishment with twine.

Now, here are the particulars. You will need to craft 2 handmade greeting cards using any of the challenges above (hey, use more than one if you're daring). You will send one unused card, with a corresponding envelope, to (2) different partners. The card size, and theme are sender's choice. Of course it is always a nice idea to check out your partners profile for ideas, but that is simply a suggestion.

Be creative, and really give it some thought. Please do your best work, keep in mind what you'd like to receive.

I'm going to keep this a USA swap due to some extreme postage bills lately. However if someone would like to host an international version, please be my guest.

If this swap seems popular than, I'll definitely host some more card swaps using different challenges. If there are any suggestions please let me know. Everyone including me wants to have a fun swap.

Newbies are welcome with a good filled out profile. No unexplained 1's from active members, anything else we can take on a case by case basis.

For those interested the magazine I'm referring to is Paper Crafts 75 Creative Card Challenges and it was published back in 2012 by Creative Crafts Group. I can't show anything from the magazine due to copyright issues, but there is no reason we can't use some of the ideas pitched within.
