Amour Paris

Hi. I am new but am a good swapper and have participated in other swaps before. I love Paris. Was there in 2004

I wasn't going to sign up for any more swaps for a while, but this one got me. I was in Paris last in 2005.

Oh wow, I would love to join this swap but I'm new and I don't have any ratings yet. Maybe I'll finish one up before the sign ups end (ironically my birthday).

Kate it's ok if you are not rated yet, only those that have been rated with no sends and really low ratings will be banned :)

Oh and I forgot to mention as well, I'm really excited about this swap to. I love Paris and miss it, I really enjoy almost everything there even the country side is gorgeous.

Hey everybody I'm so sorry I assigned your partners late :( I was gone for a conference and just got back and it didn't hit me that the 23rd has passed already, time is flying by way to fast for me these days. I'm so sorry about that but I also wanted to look through all profiles and info's on everybody to make sure there are no bad swappers from the bad swap list to :)

Stacey, Thank you SO much for the package that arrived today, it is incredible! I was so lucky to get the swap coordinator!! The handmade soaps smell really nice (they look like they came straight from Paris, nice wrapping!) and the handmade notecards are so cool. I love the paperchase tissue paper! and the ribbon, and stickers and little candy container, so many things. You'll definitely get a heart from me!

received an awesome package from elise today!

I received a rating of 3 for this swap. As you can tell it is hard for me to know the monetary value to place on my hand made items. For the mini decorator pillow I did put a lot of time into it. First I used the eiffel tower picture from this swap and copied and pasted it to my computer, then I printed it out. Then I had to hand trace it onto fabric, which was harder than I thought it would be because I couldn't see some of my lines. (I don't have a light box or know how to print the image directly onto fabric.) Then I embroidered the image using black work. This took at least 2 1/2 hours. Then sewed it and stuffed it with fiberfill. (I would probably put a dollar value of $6 or $7.00 on it.) The envelopes and stationary with the same image on it with the words "I love Paris" should have been an easy project, but my computer kept on jamming up the envelopes and though I tried 7 times, the one I sent was the best. The ink I used was probably at least $1.00, though I know that doesn't mean much to the recipient. The other items were just to make the package more fun and exciting. I am glad my swap partner did appreciate my efforts. But I think I learned a big lesson - I better not participate in swaps that have dollar value minimums placed on them. I'm really sad that I didn't meet the desired intent.

Wow, that's too bad - it's hard to put a price on someone else's work. It sounds like you felt at least $8 was put into your package.

Still haven't heard from my partner...and she hasn't marked the swap as sent? Just wondering when that might happen...:) I think this swap was just jinxed for me!

Wow Star of Song that sounds really harsh :( I think sometimes people have REALLY HIGH expectations in what they will get with their swap. You put time and effort in your swap and I think that deserves a higher value over dollar. I mean it's labor in what you made that should be considered a dollar value. I'm always getting messages from people getting flakey swapers or swapers that basially sent trash/junk your obviously not one of them. I will contact your swap partner and maybe we can work something out :)

Just cruising around and did a little peek into slamophiles pic and sad rating. What does a pitcher with some weeds in it have to do with paris. i looked at it and nothing remotely looked like paris to me. Tres tacky.
