Instead of putting that empty 16oz. water bottle in the recycle bin, fill it with goodies for your swap mate. Yes, the post office will send the water bottle - you just have to securely affix the address label, cost will be based on weight. Tape the cap on with packing tape, the post office must be able to see there is no liquid in the bottle. I have this as USA only to keep the costs down. What to put in the bottle? whatever will fit - paper, beads, photos, ribbon etc - be creative. How will you decorate your bottle? The fun of this is only limited by your imagination. Have fun!!

I love the idea of this swap. Just one quick question though. If we want to put it in say a padded mailer will that be alright?

@stitchesaroundtheworld You can mail it "naked" as it were. I've sent & received them through the mail. The easiest way to do it is to cut a slit in the side of the bottle to fill it up. When you are done, tape it securely closed. Then tape the mailing label over the slit -- gives it a bit more security. The bottles I sent out had the caps glued on with a light touch of superglue. This is great mail art fun!

I've put this on my watchlist for now. I will sign up closer to the date.

I might try this one. Let me see if I have enough stuff to fill a water bottle. If so, I'm in. This sounds like great fun! What is the average postage amount? Does anyone know?

Stitches - I think the fun of it is to receive the bottle in the mail on its own - but email your partner to see what they say.

Jacqredwine - the postage is based on weight, it will be less than a flat rate cam though.

Is there rating requirements? I would hate to join if a bunch of newbies can and then get flaked on. If there is no rating requirements, do you at least have someone backed up and prepared to be an angel?
