Description:

Who wants to get a one of a kind fabric postcard? The requirements are easy. You make one and receive one. The fabric postcard needs to measure 4 x 6 inches at the time of mailing. The front can be any design or amount of stitching that you wish to do. The back needs to be a light colored fabric like muslin so that you can easily see the address and information. Please write your partner a cheerful message. Make sure that you write the word postcard on the back. I use a permanent black info pen to write on the back of the ones I send. You can mail these with a 42 cent stamp in the USA. Send something you would like to receive. You must have a rating of 4 or better to participate. No flakers please. Open to international participants.

So are these flimsy are should they have a hard layer like cardboard between the fabrics to make them rigid like a postcard?

I've never made a fabric postcard before. Is this swap opened to beginners or just for experienced fabric postcard artists? I'd love to give it a try but I wouldn't want to disappoint my partner. Thanks!

This is my fav tutorial

They are pretty easy and VERY addicting to make!

Maranda - I haven't used cardboard, but you probably could. I use something like peltex in the middle. The PO has to hand-cancel them anyways, I think.

Oh, just another comment (sorry) - I have not been able to mail these for 42 cents in the US. They always charge me 20 cents extra because they can't go through the machine. I've gotten a couple of fabric postcards with postage due and that's not fun :(

It's probably better to take them to the counter and ask.

Huh, I have never had to pay extra postage. I guess I have just gotten lucky. Sorry I was late getting the partner list out. It has been a busy weekend.
