Hiya - I'll just paste the same text as from the original here... :) The date is a little more stretched - end of January. :) Looking forward to this! xxx Naurwen So.. Here goes: You will buy or hand-make a book / journal - whichever you like best, with at least 70 pages. It can be quite a simple notebook (but remember - enough pages, and it shouldn't fall apart, something you can use well, decorate well, etc. It doesn't need to be a classy super-expensive book). In this journal you will write journal entries - but not about your own life. Think up a character, male or female, from TODAY - OR it could be you yourself who's having an incredible adventure! Here's the twist: Your character's a time-traveller, he or she was for some reason sent back, pulled back, WHATEVER in time. Into a time YOU choose. Could be medieval ages just like the picture here showsรขโฌยฆ This is where I got the idea from, Timeline (it's both a novel and a movie and I love it :)). Could be your character travels right into Sherwood Forst and bumps into Robin Hood and his fellows. Could be he / she meets up with a pharaoh in ancient Egypt. Could be your character travels to ancient Ireland and gets tought by a druid. Could be your character's in Victorian ages all of a sudden. WHATEVER you come up with! Don't think it as too complicated - your character maybe doesn't even know what happened to him / her and can't explain why they've travelled back in time. Or maybe you'll just borrow the Timeline idea and the person's travelled into medieval France together with the adventurers in right that story - and you re-invent the story itself. You really are free to create, to writeรขโฌยฆ :) Let your imagination flow! And don't worry about historical accuracy too much - I'm no history professor myself. Just try your best. :) And remember there existed no forks in medieval ages. ;) Imagine this to be a journal of your timetraveller of say 1-2 months - or longer if you like. You yourself can of course write it all in one go or work on it for a while - I've left 1.5 months until the send by date. And there doesn't need to be an entry for every day of the 1-2 months or more, but the journal should cover this amount of time (there should be a couple of days entries though - it won't do if you write about 2 days only. ;)). One more thing: Please vary your adventurer's story a little - let them DO things, experience things. I've seen that maybe with a historical theme this might quite easily slip into a romantic-ONLY-themed story. It's ok if your character falls in love, etc. but don't let them write about that ONLY out of a sudden. Try to see their situation, from their point of view - the dangers, the intriguing things, the funny situations, whatever it is. If in the end your character marries a viking warrior, that's fine, but don't make it a journal where she only writes how cuuuute he is... and how cuuuute he is... and well, how cuuuute he is. You know what I mean? ;) Please decorate the diary / journal on the outside. You can decorate some pages as well but it's not a must. If you decorate the pages, try to think of what the character would do with them? Maybe you can use a journal that somewhat fits the time your timetraveller travels to? Or mabe it'll be a modern journal that the traveller happened to take with him / her (heh, I don't expect you to hand-make a papyrus-journal if it's Egypt you travel to! lol). Maybe the journal will be travel worn - who knows what trouble the person got into? With decorating I don't mean that it must be incredibly beautiful, it could just as well be leather-bound, travel-worn, ripped, etc. Let your imagination flow!!! And if you subscribe to this, please consider the fact that you MAY get a very dark, bloody story back, or maybe one on the erotic side - it's really free to your swap-partner to decide, so please be aware of this. I want this to be an adult swap IF your partner chooses it to be (it could just as well be a funny story you will receive!). Remember that time-travel could mean wars, fighting, but maybe also love and romance? Other rules: You must have at least 8 mail-swaps in your pocket and a rating of at least 4.5. If you haven't and still want to participate / can explain - contact me. Else I will have to ban you from this swap. If you're about to having fulfilled 8 mail-swaps and it's getting a bit tight date-wise - contact me, too. I can always move the sign-up date a little bit further. If you won't manage 8 mail-swaps or are a complete newbie I might consider doing a private swap with you, contact me. Or maybe someone else will want to do a private swap. We'll just see! Any ideas, suggestions? Feel free to comment. Another idea would be (but this is not a must!) to pack up the diary / journal in a special way before you send it on its way. After all... Maybe it's sent back in time through a time-machineรขโฌยฆ or maybe it's a secret diary and has to be packed with special care? I hope you'll enjoy this swap! :) Ah yes, of course it's international! |
