Description:

This is the fourth in the series based on the Fruit of the Spirit. The fourth "fruit" that we will be discussing will be kindness.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

The Greek word for “kindness” is chrēstotēs. It means “benignity, tender concern, uprightness.” It is kindness of heart and kindness of act.

Kindness is the characteristic that led God to provide salvation for us. Kindness leads God to give us green pastures, quiet waters, and the restoration of our souls when we're weary. It is God's tender care that makes Him want to gather us under His wings, to protect us and keep us close to Him. God expressed kindness when He provided for Elijah and the widow of Zarephath during a drought—and He showed more kindness later when He raised the widow's only son from the dead. When Sarah exiled Hagar and Ishmael, God gave the outcasts kindness in the form of water and hope. On multiple occasions, kindness induced Jesus to stop what He was doing and help others in need. And kindness leads the Good Shepherd to rescue us when we stray.

When we exhibit the kindness of God, we are tender, benevolent, and useful to others. Every action, every word will have the flavor of grace in it. To maintain this attitude toward those we love is hard enough. To express kindness toward those who are against us requires the work of God. That is why kindness is a fruit of the Spirit.

For this swap, you will be making a profile comment to your ONE partner of what kindness means to you. You also need to include a scripture and how the scripture applies to your life. Please do not use Galatians 5:22-23 as your scripture.

Let me summarize:

1.One partner.

2.What kindness means to you.

3.A scripture on kindness.

4.How the scripture applies to your life.

Please remember to write the title of the swap and the group with your comment. This will make it easier for your partner to rate the swap.

Only people with well filled out profiles may participate in this swap. I will be checking the night before partners get assigned. Be sure to rate your partner a 5 if they meet all the requirements of this swap. If you liked what they sent you, give them a heart. It's entirely up to you. Please send something that you would like to receive yourself.

This swap is NOT profile based.

Any problems, feel free to contact me.
