It's time to move along some of your pretty papers.

You'll send at least 1 ounce of pretty paper (scrapbook/origami/etc), all paper weights allowed, to your partner.

The minimum size allowed is 4.25 x 5.5 inches (A2 Envelope (see my comment below Ò˜º)). Sorry for the confusion!! The paper should be sent flat (not folded).

This is an international swap. It's open to newbies with a well filled out profile (I should feel comfortable knowing what to send, or not to send, to you). No recent unexplained 1s or 3s.

You'll have 2 partners.

Not to be pedantic but I think you mean A6 sized.

Oh man, I was totes wrong in my previous comment. Sorry for that, I can be quite a blur one.

A2 is huge. I think you did mean A6. A2 would be 16.5x23.4 inches. I would be interested with the smaller size

Yeah, I realised that while I was making a cup of coffee. Not one of my brightest moments in the past week. Sigh. But I do have a bunch of papers around that size.

What size paper and how many pages are needed for this swap ? How much would be 1 oz ?

I work in a print shop in the US and we use A2 envelopes for 90% of the notecards we sell (which means lots of "bad" ones that end up at my house for personal use). Sorry for the confusion--I'm thinking of the size envelope, NOT the size of the paper! I actually have no idea what size A2 paper is!

The paper should measure 4.25x5.5 inches minimum, which fits into that A2 envelope nicely. Larger is fine, of course.

Ace330660: I just put together a mock-up envelope and a 24lb A2 envelope will need approximately 12 sheets of lightweight scrapbook paper (4.25 x 5.5 inch) to weigh 1 oz. Of course, the number of sheets you'll need to send depends on how heavy your paper is. I don't like putting a strict number of sheets because everyone's stash is different and I don't want a person who prefers heavier paper to be penalized with a higher shipping charge for the same number of sheets.

In the US, the minimum price is based on a 1 oz envelope. Honestly, I don't know how postage is priced in other countries, so just go with that metric as applies to your country.

Oddly enough (addressed to those educating me on A sizes Ò˜º) an A6 envelope is bigger than an A2 envelope! It's very confusing. I'm not even sure if what we call an A2 corresponds to international standards. The graphic we have on a wall at work showing sizes of envelopes implies that Baronial (Bar) envelopes are the same sizes as As (does A stand for something?!?) but Bars have a triangular shaped flap while As have a square flap.

...I'm going to go look this stuff up! Because I'm a nerd like that...Your additional information is welcome on this topic!! Ò˜º

So apparently Americans are completely different when it comes to our A sized envelopes vs A sized papers found around the world. This explains a lot and is also not surprising...

I can only find this small of an envelope-4 1/2 by 6 1/2 in. Would this be fine to send the sheets in?

caf1988 05/ 7/2017 #

Ace, yep!

FYI: 1 ounce is at least 28.35 grams
