Description:

TEN partners to celebrate the month of SEPTEMBER! International and US version -- this is the USA version [details below about the stamp shown above]

Mail can be in whatever form sender chooses -- letter, packet, poster, whatever you choose -- but please do not just send a postcard with the name of the swap - that does NOT cut it

Send happy mail that is FUN for your partners to receive

This is NOT a postcard swap!

FURTHER INFO/IDEAS:

Flat mail, so shouldn't be expensive to mail (like packages can be!). If you join, you'll typically have 10 partners (if at least 11 join the swap).

Happy mail outside -

pretty-up the envelope with postage stamps, colored pen address, stickers, doodles, Washi, etc

Happy mail inside -

so include things inside that are fun to receive - maybe a letter, along with things that your partner would like: such as Washi tape samples, stickers, blank postcards, stationery, notecards, comics from newspaper or printed off internet, photos you've taken, ephemera if your partner likes that (random things, etc). Send things that you'd be happy to get, that's a good thing to keep in mind. PLEASE - do not send random scraps of paper unless it is very clear from your partner's profile that such things would be welcome - err on the side of caution

You don't need to send the same thing to all your partners, and it's a fun way to look through the things you have and share!

Must be a WIYM member in good standing

You do NOT have to send identical swaps to each of your partners

Note: If less than 11 join, you may have less than 10 partners, but will have no more than 10 partners, no matter how many join

Please mail within the time provided - you will have over 3 weeks

Info about stamp above, issued September, 1956:

The Post Office Department released a commemorative stamp honoring American workers Ò€” the "Labor Day" stamp Ò€” on September 3, 1956, at Camden, New Jersey. In 1894, Congress designated the first Monday in September as a federal holiday known as 'Labor Day.' In an unprecedented event, a dedication ceremony preceded the First Day Ceremony. Ceremonies took place in the White House Rose Garden on September 1, with President Eisenhower attending.

The 3-cent stamp paid the postage on a one-ounce first-class letter.

Victor S. McCloskey, Jr., of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing designed the stamp, using as source material a photograph of a portion of the mural by Lumen M. Winter located in the AFL-CIO building in Washington, DC. Richard M. Bower and Charles A. Brooks engraved the vignette. John S. Edmondson engraved the frame, lettering, and numeral.

To the ladies that were chosen as my partners. The small packages, (yea I know couldn't help myself) are ready to go and in the mail tomorrow. Please note to check the entire envelope as some things may have fallen to the buttom. Some of the items are completely random (I go to a bunch of trade shows) the rest I hope you enjoy the selections I put together. (Read the fine print - 10 partners for this -WHEW)
