Description:

Using a shape cut from Grunge Board or Grunge Paper, apply Distress Embossing Ink. You can tap the ink pad directly onto the Grunge or tap the shape on the ink pad. I had success both ways.

Apply Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder over the inked shape. Tap off the excess. Heat emboss the Grunge until the powder melts & changes color. The Grunge will curl at this point but, that is OK. It is still flexible & will glue down on your ATC.

Let the powders & Grunge cool completely. Rub off the left over powder. This may reveal some of the Grunge but, this is OK. It will add to the look. Now ink the Grunge with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I used the wooden Ink Blending Tool. A sponge or cotton ball should work too.

This whole process is fast & easy. It will give a rusty look. Now add your rusty shape to your ATC as an embellishment. Be sure to add a sturdy backing.

I just found out from our local craft store that the Distress Embossing Powder has been discontinued. So, if you are lucky enough to have some already, or find some (grab it now), then please sign up for this swap. It was a fun, easy technique & looks really cool. I wanted to give you a heads up first so, that you do not sign up & then find out you can not find the powder. However, he does have a new powder out that would work but, they said you need a set of 3 little bottles to make it work. Right now I can not remember the name of it.
