Number of people in swap:7
Location:Regional - USA ONLY!!
Type:Type 3: Package or craft
Last day to signup/drop:September 15, 2017
Date items must be sent by:September 25, 2017

Description:

Make six modified "friendship star" quilt blocks, one for each partner. Use these instructions for a finished 12 x 12 inch block:
https://www.thespruce.com/friendship-star-quilt-block-pattern-2821927

Details:
1. Make the star portion of the block from 1 fabric color. It can be print or solid. Sender's choice.
2. Make the background using a white-on-white print fabric or solid white ONLY. No creams or ivory.
3. The triangle corners should be the same as each other, but can be a contrasting or a coordinating color to the star in the middle.
4. Use 100% cotton quilting fabric ONLY!! No flannel please!
5. The block you send to your partners should measure EXACTLY 12.5x12.5 inches to allow for a 1/4inch seam allowance.

You will have six (6) partners and send one (1) pieced block to each partner. You should receive a total of 6 blocks back in the mail.

It is my hope to have this same swap every month for several months! It is my goal for us to each have PLENTY of blocks to make a nice sized scrappy quilt over time, made from other swappers all over the USA!

Please, do not sign up if you cannot to commit to sending the blocks. Life happens, if you have to bow out, please communicate to your partner and also to me, but please try to finish. No one likes to not receive an item.

This should be a quick and easy block to sew, even for a beginner quilter. Since this swap is sender's choice for colors, you can start sewing now so the blocks are ready by the time I assign partners. You will have 10 days to mail them out after the signup deadline.

No required rating but if you have 1's or 3's within the last year please send me an explanation. Newbies welcome but please ASK QUESTIONS if you do not understand. Most of all, have fun! Any questions? Please ask.

(Note: If you can, post pics of the blocks you send/receive. I think it would be interesting to share what we get!)

As a long time quilter I can see how to make this block -- but it would be helpful if you add a link to directions -- I'm sure you can find them on line at one of the quilt block sites.

Hi, The link is on the description. Click on the words "these instructions" I will edit to make it more obvious. Thanks for the heads-up about it.

Sorry I missed it. Thanks for including it.

I hope we get at least 6 people to sign up. Can you help spread the word about this swap? Do you swap with other quilters?

Only other quilters are in the QnT group--you belong to it too. You could put a note on their forum.

If it remains at 3 signed up perhaps we could make two per partner, I've made a couple and will make a couple more today. I like the block.
