Swap Coordinator:PenguinBurger (contact)
Swap categories: Miscellaneous
Number of people in swap:19
Location:International
Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:January 1, 2009
Date items must be sent by:March 11, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

For this swap, each participant will create a journal of things they want their partner to know, basically any knowledge they want to pass on. The journal does not need to be profile specific, and it can contain any information you want to include. For example, I may decide to write a page of words I think everybody should know, followed by a recipe of my favorite enchiladas. Be as random as you want, but try to have a variety of information to both entertain and educate your partner.

Please fill the journal up, about 70 pages. I'm going to give this a long sending date so that everybody has the time to fill up the journal with as much knowledge as they can pack in to one journal!

I will ban people before assigning partners who have recent no-sends or are flakers, since this is a swap that requires a lot of commitment. This is an international swap.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Edit: It is acceptable to include information about religions, so long as the information you include is not meant to degrade or abuse any religions, or to blatantly persuade your partner.

With Knowledge Journal Swap 1 having caught so many people off guard, and seeing how many have not been able to send yet, I decided to extend this deadline for one more week. If you have any questions or do not receive 2 weeks after the deadline, please let me know!

NaughtyElf 03/10/2009 #

Well, I am sending mine off today as I worked hard to finish mine up. I've never been late on a swap and I don't intend to be even if the date has been pushed back. We all knew when the deadline was, too bad if over 2 months isn't enough. I guess I am just saying it's not fair to the rest of us who do get it out on time. I understand you wanting to be fair and yes it's a nice gesture but we're all adults here. It's nothing personal, please don't take it that way. It's my own personal thing, I dislike it when deadline dates get pushed back.

I dislike it very much as well, but after looking at the first swap I hosted, with the deadline a few weeks ago, many have still not sent. I refused to move it back for that swap, as I felt it was definitely enough time to send. I've considered that perhaps most have cleared it with their partners first. I will be moving the deadline back to the original day. I've considered that many who will not sent won't get the 1 ratings if they flaked, which could allow them to flake on other swaps.

If anybody knows they will be late, please let your partners know! If you do not receive from your partner, please let me know as well!

I just want to say as a host, I look at everyone involved in a swap, even though my partner sent, I think it's shocking that so many people haven't sent yet. I take note of those who are late on swaps and/or flake just for future reference for any swaps I host. I think it is just sad and inconsiderate that so many haven't sent yet, this makes it so much more difficult for the host and takes all the fun and joy out of running a swap. JMHO-
