Description:

I'm new to zines - a couple of my Bot friends sent me a copy of their creations, and I finally got to see the glory that is a minizine!

I've since created two and found them to be a bit time intensive, but fun!

For this swap, you'll create one minizine. I'm not an artist, and you don't have to be, either. Please do make it as cool as you can with tools you have on hand. Stamps. Cut outs. Ephemera. Doodles.

The Deets

  • Create a Yule/Solstice minzine. Instead of Christmas, I chose Yule/Solstice, because the holiday celebrates the season of Winter. The possibilities are endless.

  • Use tools you have on hand. Can't draw? No problem. Cut and paste, use fancy lettering, doodle, stamp, print... whatever you can do, do. Think of how you decorate a pocket letter, and take that same principle and apply it while creating your zine.

  • Be sure to include your Swap-Bot Nickity-Nick-Nick on the Zine. You can put it on the very last page or the very first page. Just be sure your name is there, in case your zine gets passed around - don't want anyone else to steal the credit!

What's inside???

Not sure what to include? You can include winter recipes, traditions, a picture of your Christmas/Yule tree, a winter craft tutorial... whatever floats your boat (or waxes your skis!). Just do your best to give it a winter-feel.

That's it.

If you receive a minizine, rate a 5. I don't care if you don't like it - you received it, your partner made it, it's a 5.

p.s. You can start making this now... no need to wait!
