Description:

I did a swap like this last year and discovered lots of new books and authors. Since I haven't seen another swap like it recently and I'm looking for new books to read, I decided to host one. :)

This will be really simple. Just make a list of 100 books, including the authors, that you have read or plan to read. You can write it or type it. Then you mail the list to 2 partners (through snail mail). Please remember to include your Swap-bot username and the name of the swap.

You need to have a rating of at least 4.6 and no no-sends or ones in the last 3 months. Newbies can join as long as they have a well filled out profile.

This swap is international.

Yay! Books nerds unite! :D

IssueGirl 12/ 7/2008 #

So will this be snail mail or email?

Grasshopper 12/ 7/2008 #

Thanks for joining! This will be snail mail.

Just a thought, we have Goodreads.com to help us list the books we're going to read and have read. So why not make this swap to just exchange Goodreads shelf? :)

Easy..save time and at the same time we can save paper too.

lilrawker 12/ 8/2008 #

Would you consider doing another one in the future that's email instead of snail mail? That would be exciting :D

Grasshopper 12/ 8/2008 #

I love Goodreads.com, but for me it doesn't work for this swap. 100 books is a lot to go through, but not impossible. Some people have a alot more books on that site. I, for example, have over 500 books just on my already read list. That's an awful lot for someone to go through. Plus, just beacuse I read it and put it on the read list, doesn't mean I would recommend it to someone else. But I can see what you mean about saving time and paper. Maybe someone else can do a Goodreads.com shelf swap. That would be fun too. :)

Ok, so I decided to have an e-mail version too since it seems like a lot of people would like that. Here it is: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/26485

Love it!

love the idea for this swap! I can't wait to get my lists, I'm such a bookworm. yayajanuary and Grasshopper, thanks for the mention of Goodreads.com, I am on a lot of different book swapping sites, but hadn't ever joined that one. thanks! I'm on my way to join that one now. I love my books. Also, I agree with you about not being able to recommend all of the books that I have read. I am only going to include books that I really enjoyed on this list of 100, other than if I put books down that I really am looking forward to reading but haven't gotten around to yet.

Grasshopper 12/19/2008 #

That's how I'm doing my list too @rainbowdaze . :) Welcome to the swap!

I'm a noob! I just joined today, but I'm really excited about this one. At first, I thought, "100 books? I don't even know the titles of 100 books!" But I've decided to look at this as a challenge!

I'm so excited to get to my list... this is my first swap! I read like crazy, so I should be able to come up with 100 books... :)

Belladonnalove 01/ 2/2009 #

Is the list just fiction? Or can it be a mix of fiction/nonfiction? Sounds really fun!!

neenlewz 01/ 3/2009 #

i'm new. how do i know who to mail mine to?

Britt 01/ 3/2009 #

When will the partners be assigned?

Grasshopper 01/ 4/2009 #

Hey there. Sorry it took me so long to respond to you guys. I was out of town for a few days and just saw these questions.

The list can be a mix of fiction and nonfiction. It's whatever you read.

Partners will be assigned on January 6, the day after add/drop ends.

And after partners are assigned you come back to this page and click on "see the partners you send to" in the swap member options box on the top right of the page.

jdb822 01/11/2009 #

Argh, me too! I did send I promise haha

FeltPrincess 01/18/2009 #

I've gotten one list and am waiting on the second. I was pleased to get a list of books mainly in a genre I haven't read much of--room to grow. :)
